There is a 2.5 minute video interview
with J available online… Circuit 8 DVDIf you type "J Mascis" into their search
option, then click on "Mascis/J Fog",
then click on "features" at the bottom,
then click on "Circuit Shorts: Tahiti 80, J Mascis, Ryan Adams, Jurassic 5", you’ll see
it.-FogLight
P.S.
I am going to post pictures and a summary
of the Fog gig from last Friday at the High
Dive in Champaign Illinois. Hopefully I’ll
have the pictures ready by the end of the
week. I’ll post it on the "Tour" bulletin
board. It was great, and I got to talk with J afterwards!

March 2, 2001 at 2:10 am #54234Hey,
Just got this the other day…outstanding!! Gotta love when J is asked to describe himself.."just your basic asshole I guess."
Other stand out bits in the interview include where he talks about doing soundtracks…says they are easier as he doesn’t have to please himself just the director, watch the film and the songs just write themselves…not looking to become soundtrack guy like Danny Elfman just does it when asked. Also states he doesn’t even consider whether he’s viable or not, just wants to keep making music and have people listen to it. Having Same Day and Waistin to check out anytime is pretty damn cool as well. So pick it up if you can, well worth the small amount of cash.Allison
ps Danny Elfman used to be my fav soundtrack guy…not any more.

Quite exciting this computer magic.March 6, 2001 at 2:20 am #54236J also spoke about producing other bands, said he was basically "abusive" when he was producing and didn’t care for the person he became when he was producing for others. He followed that by saying he was thinking about how he might try again now that he is older and use a different technique, i.e. "be nice to them, maybe bring them flowers or something". Really is an awesome video, with two solo acoustic performances. Well worth the money and they ship it out quick.
March 26, 2001 at 7:47 pm #54237thx, Foglight, much enjoyed the video interview. Some great playin’ there too. It’s a pitty it only last for 2.5 minutes
March 27, 2001 at 4:07 pm #54238does anyone know how long the j segment is on the dvd?

March 27, 2001 at 7:35 pm #54239The interview is four minutes and fifty seconds. Plus two acoustic live performances of Sameday and Waistin.
