I’ve been getting technical in my playing lately and have been venturing off into the wonderful world of guitar solo’s. However, I noticed my solo’s sound kind of dinky. They’re not really "full" sounding and are really kind of twangy. I’ve been using reverb to help make things sound more exciting but it just sounds like twang with echo. I have a really minimalistic rig and was wondering that if I started using a wah, would it help make things sound thicker? Also, how ’bout something like an MXR gain pedal (I can’t remember exactly what it is called but it adds some gain and fuzziness. The company recomends it for solo’s)?

Finally, can anyone give me any pointers as far as technique for solo’s goes? Thanks…
