well, i got back from j’s show. need i say that it was great. he began the evening with NOT YOU AGAIN, and ended with FREAK SCENE. other highlights of the evening were j’s opening act — STUMPTONE, J blowing out an amp only 1 minute into the show, and Mike watt doing what he knows best. To begin with, STUMPTONE was a beautiful three piece band from north texas (they did not specify as to were/what city/location that they were from. however, STUMPTONE displayed an uncanny similarity to LOW. needless to say, after asking, they agreed that LOW was an influence at one time during the band’s gestation. getting back to j, i was able to take great pics of the entire band. i am going to see about posting them soon. another interesting thing happened. after the show, the stage crew simply pulled j’s set list off of the monitor and placed it aside thinking nothing of it. well, i now have it (purple duct tape and everything). i’m not sure who’s handwriting is on it, but i am still proud to have it.

here are some other things i forgot to add. first a funny thing. when j and the fog began to play SAME DAY, j’s chord fell out and he played a measure or so before he figured out the reason why he couldn’t hear himself. also, j stumpled over the same chord later in the show almost tripping over himself. but magic maker that he is, j overcame this and went onward through the fog. now a sad thing. j was quite involved with his solo in AMMARING. however, when he forgot the bridge, the band was thrown off and the song simply ended prematurely. oh well. j is worth seeing no matter what. here is the playlist as it is written on the playlist now in my possession:
(MIKES HOUSE) — didnt’ play it
      NOT YOU AGAIN
      SAME DAY
      WAISTIN
      LUNG
      WHERED U GO
      BACK B4 U GO
      REPULSION
      ALL THE GIRLS
      I’M NOT FINE
      NOT RIGHT
      AMMA
      THUMB
BLOWIN ME (ACTUALLY BLOWIN IT/I LIVE FOR THAT LOOK)
      TV EYE
      MORE LIGHT
      JUST LIKE HEAVEN
LITTLE FURY THINGS (REPLACED IT WITH FREAK SCENE)

feel free to send any questions this way.
