DAMN! I am not going to be able to make it to Chicago to see J on Nov 3rd because of these darn "family obligations." It sure would be nice if J would make it to Detroit (or better yet 20 minutes away from me in the great city of Grand Rapids!!) It’s funny, but acts a lot more well known than J play in GR all the time, but he seems to always stick to these "Madonna-esque" cities (but not venues, obviously ) London Paris Tokyo ,etc. I wonder why that would be?!

Thats gotta hurt, minneapolis on the 4th give it a try. I was going to go to Chicago
but the BEARS are killing me….1-7 god. Thought I should avoid the ediface of shame
(soldier field) and head to minneapolis instead. You should try and make a gig, you will definitely regret it….it will haunt you forever (just kidding)

A freind of mine just told me that he heard on a local radio station (in Grand Rapids, MI) that J Mascis and the Fog are going to do a gig here, but he doesn’t remember the date (damn him). I have searched several official sites and can find no details as to J’s itinerary upon his return to the States. Anyone have a clue? Was my freind experiencing an LSD flashback? If it’s true, I’m certain it’s because I started this thread!

NEVER MIND…I’M ABOUT TWO DAYS LATE AND $5 SHORT. Community Anouncements forum confirms it’s true!

I’m resurrecting your post in honor of J’s upcoming Michigan shows. Headin to the Blind Pig for Saturday’s show…AAARRGH, the waiting is terrible. Hagar: I saw the Chicago set and agree w/ Bates…you will be amazed.

Questions for all Mascis’ Michigan loyalists:
What is the 1 Dinosaur Jr. song from "Green Mind" or prior that you most want to hear?(‘Quest’ for me)
And "New Light"?(‘Amarring’ for me)

less than 48hrs

Hey IsStillGod,

Hoping you will post a review and setlist of the show in Ann Arbor, Ron Asheton is apparently playing with Mascis that nite….you are definitely in for a great show. You might get lucky and Scott Rock Action Asheton might show up to play some drums….that would be cool. Would be interested in knowing what songs Asheton plays on, I am absolutely green with envy!!!!Going to check out the Bellrays tonite, not much of a consolation but hey what can you do.

Have a Real Cool Time,

Allison

ps I think the Bellrays might be hitting Ann Arbor as well, apparently heavily influenced by the MC5 and Stooges with a killer singer who has been compared to Aretha Franklin will let you know how they are.

Thanks for the info Bates. Now I’m even more pumped for this show. The Bellrays sound interesting too, I’ll have to check them out…would love to hear more.

later on.
