Well, it’s official, this was J’s last show! he’s throwing in the towel! (just kidding)

Headed for Cleveland around 6, got there 8:30. Grog Shop is one of the smallest places ever. Get in no problem.

Crank on some beers early, gotta drive home later.

Forgot pen and paper in the car (for the set list). Begin to walk through a group of people trying to get outside when out of the corner of my eye…yes, that’s right…it’s J. Got to meet him and shake his hand!!! So dumbfounded and mesmerized, couldn’t even say anything else, he’s like "hey, what’s up?" (me…uh…uh…duh)

1st band-Ever heard of the Flaming Lips? That’s all I can think of.

2nd band-A lot better.

J comes out. I snap a few photos and J asks that people please not take flash photos. I oblige and put away the camera.

Only J and an accoustic. Regular amp for the lyrics, kicks on the overdrive for solos and to add effect when not singing…

Thumb
Blowin’ It
Quest
Waistin’
Sameday
Keeblin’
Ammaring w/ a phatty solo
Grab It
The Lung-just a teaser cuz someone shouted for it
Flying Cloud
Throw Down
Get Me
I’m a space but you can count on me to save yer place (I can’t think of the title)
Repulsion
On the Run
Not You Again
***5 minute break for more H2O***
The Wagon
Every Mothers Son

Absolutely rocked, but you pobably already guessed that though huh

I took two more pics (sorry J, but I had to) and as soon as I get them developed and scanned they’ll be up on Tony’s site.

There was also someone there who video and audio taped the whole thing. Hopefully they know about this site and will put it on the FTP.

Monica/Amanda(?) (sorry, I’m absolutley terrible w/ names ) Nice meeting ya and thanks for the beer

Cruising home, miss the exit out of Cleveland (there was no sign, I swear), my co-pilot passes out, so it’s just me, the road and Neil, Spoon, Kenny Wayne Sheppard. Blow by a cop doing 15 over in a construction zone . Luckily no ticket.

Allright, lots more to say (will post later) but booze, nicotine, and caffeine can only keep ya going for so long

I was there too! Music was good once J started playing, I wasn’t real into the opening bands. First one was OK, but the second dragged on a bit. The feedback was a cool feature for the live show, and J sounded AWESOME.

The Grog was kind of annoying, it was really small, and got kind of hot. Plus the stage was really low, and J was sitting down so I couldn’t see much as I am kind of short. Plus it was only like 10 minutes from my friend’s house–which was good because I had to wake up at 8 AM to drive back to Pittsburgh. But J’s not coming here, so what can you do?
