…you all are pretty good at this…I was wondering if anyone could tell me who sings this song?
Most of the words are somewhat spoken and the only line I know goes "Do I…dig that girl. Do I…dig that girl"
Like always, any info is appreciated
thanx, kurtisDecember 8, 2001 at 5:34 pm #67270My guess is that it is ‘Spill the wine’ by WAR (the verses are half spoken/half sung):
I was once I was strolling one very hot summer’s day
When I thought laid myself down to rest
In a big field of tall grass
I laid there in the sun and felt it carressing my face
As i fell asleep and dreamed
I dreamed i was in a hollywood movie
And that i was the star of the movie
This really blew my mind
The fact that me an overfed long haired leaping nome
Should be the star of a hollywood movie, hmmm
But there i was
I was taken to a place
The hall of the mountain kings
I stood high by the mountain tops
Naked to the world
In front of
Every kind of girl
There was long one’s tall ones, short ones, brown ones,
Black ones, round ones, big ones, crazy ones
Out of the middle, came a lady
She whispered in my ear
Something crazy
She said,Chorus x4
Spill the wine and take that girlI could feel hot flames of fire roaring at my back
As she disappeared, but soon she returned
In her hand was a bottle of wine
In the other a glass
She poured some of the wine from the bottle into the glass
And raised it to her lips
And just before she drank it, she saidtake the wine take that girl
spill the wine, take that girl
spill the wine, take that girl
spill the wine, take that girl
take that girl, yeah!
It’s on girl, all you gotta do is spill that wine
spill that wine, let me feel, let me feel hot, yeah! yeah!
spill the wine, spill the wine, spill the wine, spill the wine,
spill the wine, spill the wine, spill the wine,
take that girlDecember 8, 2001 at 5:51 pm #67271hey den buck, yeah that’s it! thanx! Didn’t realize I was saying it wrong but that’s definately it. Funny…when I was writing this, I was going to say it sounded somewhat WARish

I guess your just what I needed (just what I needed) I needed someone to feed
I guess your just what I needed (just what I needed) I needed someone to please
It’s not the perfume that you wear, it’s not the flowers in your hair
I don’t mind you hanging round, and talking in your sleepAnyone…anyone…anyone? thanx

I know you probably heard of them, but Ric Ocasek,
the lead singer has produced many alt rock bands, I think the strangest of which has to be Bad Brains, with their album Quickness.December 23, 2001 at 12:14 pm #67274
quote:
Originally posted by Half-Man:

December 23, 2001 at 1:56 pm #67275Hey thanks again! A lot of this stuff is on the radio when my alarm goes off in the morning. So I hear it, and I know the words, but that’s usually it. Glad you all know
January 11, 2002 at 12:45 am #67276…well I’m stuck here in the middle with you…
…and I don’t know what I’m goinna’ do…Helpful Hint—it’s the background music in RESERVOIR DOGS when the gangster (Mr. White?) is dancing arounf the cop, cuts of his ear, and then begins dowsing him in gasline—
Let’s see who gets it first
