Well?
March 14, 2002 at 7:27 pm #68461Hey Jaron,
I had a subscription to Details about 10 years ago. It was the best magazine ever, male- or female- targeted. The writing was awesome, the contributing editors were brilliant, and they sent a double-cd music sampler out to subscribers every year. Then they got a new editor, changed the format, started catering to they young & trendy club crowd; I cancelled my subscription.
Nowadays it’s hard to find men’s mags that aren’t plastered with naked women. I read Esquire sometimes; GQ is a little too snobby. Men’s Health is okay, and FHM sucks. I’ve heard Maxim is good but so far I haven’t made it past the breast-happy covers.
You didn’t list yours?
March 14, 2002 at 7:36 pm #68462yeah, favorite mags in general- wired is pretty good-espn and SI actually also hire people who can write- and discover and popular science -scientific american is also funny- the shit they talk about in that magazine is so over anybodys head its hilarious
March 14, 2002 at 7:46 pm #68463Well, I don’t often do magazines, don’t have any subscriptions, though I’ll occasionally buy one off the stand if it catches my interest…
Gonna have to go with bean on this one.. Wired, Pop. Mechanics, Pop. Science, Sci. Am., etc are more my spead…

March 14, 2002 at 9:35 pm #68465I usually read music magazines in the store because I`m too cheap to buy them, plus in Canada they cost 5 bucks or more.
March 14, 2002 at 10:25 pm #68466Hey, MAXIM rocks. Definately very sex oriented but seems to be pretty straight up in my opinion. I.E.-it doesn’t only potray women as objects, it gives them brains too.
Kurticus will read whatever comes his way when it comes to magazines. Whatever is on the coffee table at the moment I guess.
March 15, 2002 at 9:56 am #68467the net, stuff, what hi-fi, Classic FM (used to publish them, and like to see how terribly they are doing after I left <img>
