GREAT! I only have it a couple of hours, but I think this is one of the best SY records ever, first couple of songs remind me of Television somehow, very clean guitar-sounds, then ‘Karen revisited’, 11 minutes of strangely romantic controlled rock and noise, love it!!! <img> ‘Plastic Sun’ features Kim Gordon on vocals and is basically a short punk song, the album ends with the beautiful ‘Sympathy for the strawberry’, 9 minutes of pure beauty <img> <img>
June 7, 2002 at 9:46 pm #70019AN ACTUAL MY BLOODY VALENTINE TSHIRT!!!!!!!!!!!!
I thought they’d stopped making these!
To bad my mom thinks the picture on the front looks like Michael Jackson. <img>
June 8, 2002 at 6:50 pm #70020Wipers – Box Set
The first three albums from this great band (‘Is this real?’ – ‘Youth of America’ – ‘Over the edge’), each album has bonus tracks, 23 bonus tracks alltogether, a booklet with liner notes by Greg Sage, and if you order it from Zeno Records (great website as well!), you only pay 17 dollars, that’s what I call value for money!!!
Highly recommended!!!!!!! <img> <img>
June 10, 2002 at 4:20 pm #70021found a copy of dream syndicate’s ‘medicine show’ for 4 bucks on vinyl. this is long out of print on cd and fetches absurd prices on ebay, so unless it is rereleased, i will never own this on cd.
also picked up an unopened single of the go-betweens’ ‘spring rain’ for two bucks. two b-sides=$1 each.
June 10, 2002 at 4:57 pm #70022Dream Syndicate`s Medicine show is really good,I heard all the songs from it on AG,Merritville is a great song;hopefully someone will reissue that album someday.

June 11, 2002 at 12:36 pm #70024VF-congrats on getting some Versus and Dream Syndicate <img> I paid 30 bucks for Hurrah as well <img> but HEY! it`s a great album <img>
Never saw a Dream Syndicate cd around here before,maybe someday I will.June 11, 2002 at 4:42 pm #70025Hey DB,
It was the Rhino issue of Days of Wine and Roses that I picked up, gotta love all the extras <img>
That thirty buck Versus is a great disc, big sticker on the back saying made in Canada…so whats the deal with the thirty buck price tag then <img> Oh well <img>
Allison <img>
June 11, 2002 at 6:05 pm #70026Yeah,what`s up with those made in Canada stickers?Drag City has them on their cd`s,when did Chicago become part of Canada? <img> that would suck because then the BEARS would have to play in the CFL <img> <img>
June 12, 2002 at 12:21 am #70027I haven’t bought any new CD’s in almost 4 months now, because I’m a student and broke as sheeeeite <img>
Will change shortly though <img>
Oh yeah, sorry about the incredibly stupid reply, but hey I haven’t been here in a while <img>
June 12, 2002 at 2:35 am #70028If you buy Dream Syndicate’s ‘The days of wine and roses’, be sure to buy the 2001 Rhino reissue, it has got 8 bonus tracks, and new Steve Wynn liner notes!
ps. I paid about 15 US$ for it…
June 12, 2002 at 8:39 am #70029The latest double cd by Haris Alexiou. A wonderfull live album with a traditional setting.
