In about two weeks time the World Cup 2002 starts (we are talking football European style here), as Holland didn’t qualify it isn’t quite obvious who is gonna be the next World Champion, who do you think is gonna win the World Cup 2002?
May 19, 2002 at 7:44 pm #70073USA USA USA!!!
Although, if Holland didn’t qualify, and we just lost to them 2-0 this Sunday afternoon… May 19, 2002 at 7:59 pm #700741) Argentina
2) FranceI saw USA-NL tonight aswell. USA have to raise their game to be the new world champs!
Nice names of the players though :
Steward (Rod?)
Lewis (Jerry lee?)
Jones (John Paul?)May 20, 2002 at 6:09 am #70075England. (although probably France or Italy).
Watch out for the West Ham boy Joe Cole – ready to take the world by storm.
May 20, 2002 at 7:09 am #70076Personally I think Argentina, but……
Ireland has kept Holland out of the World Cup , and the last couple of World Cups the team that beat Holland won the Cup, so Ireland is a very, very serious candidate……
May 20, 2002 at 7:40 am #70077I think Belgium will win the Cup this year
May 20, 2002 at 8:31 am #70078If England come second in our group (which is probably the best we can hope for bearing in mind that the last time we beat Sweden was in 1966, and that we have to play our nemesis team, Argentina) chances are that we will have to play France. If we beat France, we will have to play Brazil!
Argentina are too poor in defence to win, Ireland will do ok in the group, but I can’t see them beating Germany, Belgium (you must be joking??!!)
So excited – please, please let us get past the first group. On paper, we look quite strong, Beckham, Scholes, Owen, Ferdinand, Campbell, Cole (ashley and joe), Hargreaves, Fowler, Heskey, Seamen…. But, knowing us, we will lose every game.
May 20, 2002 at 9:57 am #70079I think that england will struggle as ever, there seems to be a tendency in the tabloids etc to build up our chances witohut ever really thinking who we will be playing against, I mean France, Argentina, Brazil….

Our players looked knackered, and I am now thinking that teams like Brazil, Argentina, Spain (maybe even Japan) have got a better chance of going the distance, being used to playing in heat.
Good luck to all teams from Freakscener’s areas.
Unless you ain’t English

June 3, 2002 at 4:39 pm #70086saw Germany and Saudia Arabia-sick dude!
The Swedes almost pulled it off yesterday! England looked really good the 1st half but sorta fell apart the 2nd. Definately best game I’ve seen so far. Can’t believe Beckham is back and playing so soon! Most of the games are on in late night here. 12:30, 3:30, 4:30, 5:30 AM (you get the idea). Luckily no work and only one final b4 graduation this week. So will be sure to get in some late night thrills soccer-wise!
U.S. vs. Portugal 4:55am EST. Watch out boys-here come the new world champs!!! Underated, unappreciated, disrespected, and the world thinks outclassed
C-you in the champions circle suckers !!!
