Hey SG,

That Robot World song is HypNOtizing

Cream Of The Crap came in yesterday
Keep your eyes open, its domestic in the US so could be coming your way, very cool to have the songs altogether on one disc High Visibility is domestic as well, this store actually had 2 copies…nice to see

Fingers crossed my luck continues, heading out again today…holidays are fun

Hoping to see some more by the Hellacopters here, there`s nothing by them currently the used cd store chain is now closed down here so I`m not going to find alot of cool stuff I used to.

Robot World is definitely hypnotizing, the bass line is killer how it sneaks around, the vocals definitely in the Kevin Sheilds vein.

You know we could always do a cross canada exchange from the middle of nowhere to…

Definitely MBV sound to that track…in a cool way

American Analog Set – AmAnSetUpdates

Got it at their gig yesterday, 6 song EP with remixes, interesting, fine stuff (some of it sounding not unlike German band ‘the Notwist’)

VF-sounds like you found some good music I have Silkworm`s Blueblood,my fav song is Beyond Repair,I like the quote from Gimme Shelter thrown in Redeye has a Stonesy feel to it too, that version of Bailter Space`s Robot World is better then the one from the album Robot World, actually that`s the first song I ever heard by them. The Ramones reissues are way I have the Rocket To Russia reissue.Wire`s Chairs Missing with the bonus tracks I got several months ago,I wanted to get it to hear Too Late because Yo La Tengo covered it.

made a trip to the only good record store in town and got:

the scene is now–oily years (1983-1993)

ana d–live in los angeles on 89.9 KCRW’s "morning becomes eclectic". i was actually going to order this from the label, but miraculously, i found it used at this place.

trembling blue stars–her handwriting

jazz butcher–big planet scarey planet

low + dirty three–in the fishtank

the court and spark–ventura whites. the first album by this SF band. its now OOP and I saw it last time i was up there and later regreted not buying it. again, by miracle, found it used down here.

You should also check out their latest album ‘Bless you’, I think that is even better!

Both albums are still available here in Europe through Glitterhouse Records from Germany, ‘Ventura Whites’ is in their ‘bargain bin’ for only 8.25 euros…..

tonight I bought

Dinosaur Jr. — YLAOM
Sebadoh — Bakesale

and… The Folk Implosion — One Part Lullaby

Did not actively know this, but I did on some deeper level, I guess I am on a Lou Barlow kick or deeply in love with him.
Who knows? Amazing what happens to me in a new city (Phoenix this week) and not knowing where the coolest record store is.. I wanted to check out At Sixes and Sevens (J-Low’s), but I could not find it….oh well.. I guess I will just have to listen to those three for tonight..

Carl

p.s. Pretty cool lightning storm tonight here in the Valley of the Sun, but 112F is too darn hot..

I have`nt bought anything in a month so I just went out and bought some cd`s,all on sale stuff instead of paying a fortune like I usually do,I got:

Van Morrison-Astral Weeks
Miles Davis-Greatest Hits
White Stripes-White Stripes
Lightnin Hopkins-Forever Gold series
Bob Dylan-Another Side Of Bob Dylan
Etta James-20th Century Masters series
Joni Mitchell-Hejira(Halfman should approve this )

I paid between $6.99 to $12.99 each so by Canadian money, that`s pretty good

Okkervil River – Don’t fall in love with everyone you see

Great album (fine sad lyrics as well….), if you like Sparklehorse or Will Oldham this one is worth checking out, you will not be dissapointed.

A fine guest appearance as well: Daniel Johnston singing on one track
