quote:
Frank Black, Ryan Adams, Henry Rollins, and Keith Morris of the Circle Jerks are among the special guests expected to appear as part of a tribute to early 80s Los Angeles roots-punk heroes the Gun Club at the free Sunset Junction festival August 25th. Original Gun Club guitarist Ward Dotson and Rob Zabrecky and Byron Reynolds of Possum Dixon will comprise the core band at the show, which will feature material from the Gun Club’s 1981-1982 heyday as a contemporary of roots-versed punk warriors X and The Blasters. John Doe of X and Johnette Napolitano of Concrete Blonde are among the many other L.A.-based Gun Club nuts expected to perform at the gig, which will concentrate on material from the Gun Club’s first two albums.

Read more about the Sunset Junction festival here, amongst the other bands performing are Sonic Youth and Sleater-Kinney…….

        hey dB, great info, thanks
the Gun Club was surely one of the most underrated bands, especially in the US, so I appreciate it very much, that some great artists do a tribute show now
I would love to see that festival, but it’s a bit far away…
