Props to Allison for the original ‘commercial songs’ thread…can’t pull it up at the moment for some reason!

I’m wondering if anyone can tell me what song is used in the Ikea commercial, where the two girls are driving across the desert in a grey car, and the one girl has sunburn on her arm. It’s a really pretty song & I know I haven’t heard it before.

thanks
Rosa

p.s. everyone should listen for the Reverend Horton Heat song, "Big Sky", in the Levi’s commercial.

I don’t know where "songs in commercials part 1 is" but my favorite is the Timberland commercial where
they use "The Wind" by Cat Stevens. That commercial is quiet and beautiful.

Hey Rosa,

This is probably a better spot for the commercial song deal. Not sure about that song but will listen for it, had the sunburn deal driving thru the desert…I burnt my right arm and voodoo guy burnt his left

Here is the original thread

Watching TSN this evening had the misfortune of catching a RAW/ WWF commercial I don’t know but something smelled like a pretty close copy of Teen Spirit by Nirvana Now thats something I would like to see Courtney taking on Vince Mcmahon…sue his ass

Gotta say those gap commercials just suck Bunch of guys playing acoustic guitar to a supertramp song…I think I saw a goo goo doll in there

Hey Allison,

Totally with you on the Gap commercials. I wonder if any of those (seemingly liberal) artists are aware of the Gap’s seedy sweatshop reputation. Think they would still do the commercials? (The one that hurt the most was the one with Dwight Yoakam….I love Dwight…it brought a tear to my eye)

Speaking of pop music & sporting events, the NBA often uses a frightening interpretation of "Higher Ground" by the RHCP during the intros/outros.

Coolest thing was, I went to my first NBA game last year, and the Golden State Warriors’ cheerleaders did a routine to "The Beautiful People" by Marilyn Manson. It was so ghetto; it rocked my socks. They were beastly looking women, too, which made it even better.

take care,
Rosa

I swear those gap commercials are gonna kill me They are now using The Troggs song Love Is All Around in a commercial…

I swear they make some of the worst/sappy commercials around

I love that song though
