I’ll be at Charlottesville and DC! Man, I really hope they’re right and these are full Fog shows and not J. acoustic (not that that wasn’t great).
December 6, 2002 at 2:33 am #84239wow !!
that’s pretty cool … hopefully he comes over to europe w/the fog too … anyone know who else is going to be in the fog this time around ??anyhow … i thought j didn’t like touring ?? … i don’t think he ever toured this much before … did he ? does anyone know ? has anyone asked him ?
December 6, 2002 at 4:48 am #84240I think the main reason he doesn’t tour europe with the fog is because it’s too expensive. Since he lost money the last time, I don’t think he’ll come to europe with the fog again.
He doesn’t like touring? I think he’s just done a tour after every album.
The Fog? Watt and George I suppose, unless he picked up a new drummer. I think Watt really likes playing with J.
Jaron, how do you know it’s with fog?

December 6, 2002 at 10:17 am #84241I don’t know it’s with the fog, for sure. When I went to pollstar.com, it has on the left of it’s page like "top tours" or something and "J. Mascis & The Fog" is listed, instead of "J. Mascis" like they had for the last tour.
Plus, J. just played Black Cat in DC solo a few months ago, so I don’t see him returning this soon unless he has the band with him.

December 6, 2002 at 12:11 pm #84243hey Jaron, thanks for the info

I followed your precise instructions and found the site you’re talking of:
Pollstar/ J Mascis & the Fog
The Ultimatum records site is still a bit cryptic about it:
Quote:J Mascis
2003: West Coast/East Coast/ TBA/ Solo Acoustic and Full Band shows coming in 2003… there will probably be gigs with whatever kind of band. But, like Samwise said, the last Europe tour with the Fog has been financially a loss for J (maybe because of the car accident, too?), so… not much hope for full band "Fog" gigs over here anymore

I don’t complain – much too much looking forward to the J gig next Sunday
December 9, 2002 at 10:14 pm #84244I’m bumping this because I have a sinking suspicion that the birthday thread has caused alot of people to not see this.
December 12, 2002 at 11:11 am #84245I just saw this, and I am stoked beyond belief. J at the ‘Cat AND on a Friday!!!! I am 85% sure I will be at the DC show. Here’s hoping that jaron is correct, last 2 times I saw J, it was just him…which is cool and all…
December 12, 2002 at 11:58 am #84246Glad to see you’re hyped too LDD. We HAVE to get the DC gang to meet up before the show if at all possible this time. There was some talk about it for the solo show a while back, but we really should do it, especially if it’s with the Fog.
December 12, 2002 at 12:55 pm #84247Oh yeah, i’m in.
December 13, 2002 at 9:35 am #84248They’re definitely Fog shows. The NJ show is now on sale @ ticketmaster.
woohoo!

The Black Cat only has dates updated until 1/31, so we should see some confirmation within a week or two.
December 16, 2002 at 12:20 am #84250Yes, the February shows are indeed with a band.
