hey, here’s a collection of Free so Free reviews, which I haven’t seen here before, some are quite witty but some are also quite negative, pointing out that Free so Free isn’t a particular Dino album or that it isn’t More Light… 
… and all of them fell over the fact, that the word "freedom" is sometimes mentioned on the album

Free So Free by J Mascis & The Fog. Dang, maybe a grunge revival is in the air. This is the best Dinosaur Jr. album (I know, I know) in almost 10 years. Mascis hasn’t sounded this fired up since his previous band’s Where You Been.
Although Dinosaur Jr. did have other members, you could argue that essentially it was a one-man band. And that’s true of The Fog also. On this album Mascis handles about 90 percent of the work – guitar, drums, bass and vocals. (Although the touring Fog, at least a couple of years ago, has included bassist Mike Watt, formerly of The Minutemen and ex-Stooge Ron Asheton.)
J’s voice still aches and even when it veers off tune his soulfullness still carries it through. He still has a knack for starting off with sad college-boy acoustic laments that build up and explode in electric frenzy.
And, yes, Mascis still sounds like he worships Neil Young and is dedicated in spreading all Neil’s ragged glory.
Even though he has a reputation for introspection that can sometimes turn dour, on this record Mascis often sounds outright exuberant. “Tell the Truth,â€
