I did’nt like More light that much so I was pretty half-assed about buying this one ($36 NZ). But becuase i’m going to see him in wellington in two weeks I would have to be nuts not to buy it. The surprising thing was I actually enjoyed it much better than more light. J is accused of only being able to do one but he does that one thing pretty fucking well. All he really has to do is keep being slack and his music will always be good. I found J’s guitar work more interesting on this one than on more light and the vocal melodies are nowhere near as obvious and dumb. J’s lyrics are pretty awkward though, he always has to make sure everything rhymes no matter how many times he’s used the same rhymes before. I found it funny how he uses that ‘F’ word in nearly every song. I shall stop the analysis and crank it up now.
