June 8, 2003 at 6:43 pm #94344Hi Stanner,
Good question, can think of a couple of instrumentals on the ‘Gas Food Lodging’ soundtrack, but otherwise?
June 8, 2003 at 9:53 pm #94345i saw "little ethnic song"on an old setlist or two and they used to play a real cool mostly instrumental version of "they always come" live, but i dont think that counts because j sings the very last verse so.
June 9, 2003 at 8:00 am #94346There`s a instrumental version of Get Out Of This on the Feel The Pain cd single
not sure if J played it live like that though.June 9, 2003 at 2:24 pm #94347Riptide Swim Sideways is a great instrumental J released in 2000, on the bonus single that came with More Light…never heard of J doing that live though
June 9, 2003 at 4:46 pm #94348my copies
of more light don’t have that bonus single … which country was that released in ?June 9, 2003 at 5:32 pm #94349I ordered it off a dutch site, think it’s French under license to
City Slang…or something like that
Two song single, Riptide Swim Sideways & Let’s Go To Church :aliensmile:June 9, 2003 at 10:29 pm #94350there are also really great instrumental FLYING CLOUD and SIDEWAYS (this may be the same as RIPTIDE SWIM SIDEWAYS a.g.a.p. mentioned above, not sure
think it’s two different songs though)the flying cloud version is awesome, very "cloudy","watery", or "dreamy" sounding…kind of a floating feeling to it.

not sure what releases these are on, but were found on AUD. GALAXY
June 10, 2003 at 5:36 am #94351great ! many thanks for the info
June 10, 2003 at 1:00 pm #94352hey Salami, the Flying Cloud & Sideways instrumentals are from the "Gas Food Lodging" soundtrack
June 12, 2003 at 12:39 am #94353CARL is a instrumental J released in 1997, on the Flyin’ Traps compilation with W. Tiers. They play just drums.
June 12, 2003 at 2:39 pm #94354I forgot about that song, thanks Leah for remind me…its great

Riptide Swim Sideways is a strange but beautiful sounding song done primarily with keyboards, don’t think J’s done anything like that one before.
June 13, 2003 at 2:44 pm #94355"the lung" may as well be considered an instrumental since there are only 6 words
