What is your favorite song to play/practice?
I would say mine is now Freak Scene. I’m also practicing Screaming Trees’ song, "Shadow of the Season."
December 18, 2003 at 8:44 pm #97755"See No Evil" or any other song by Television
December 19, 2003 at 5:10 am #97756hmm. I dont play so much songs from other artists. Hendrix – little wing and dinosaur jr’s feel the pain and something else..

January 5, 2004 at 6:44 am #97761Update:
I’ve concluded that Pearl Jam is hands down my all time favorite rock band, and have dove head first in attempting to learn some of their songs…
Here’s some i’m working on: "Do the Evolution," "Parting Ways," "Bushleaguer (Haha, I love the intro)," "It’s OK"
Also, L7’s, "Shitlist"
January 22, 2004 at 9:44 am #97762This is cool–I usually end doing the main riff to "Interstellar Overdrive" by Pink Floyd–‘cos it’s so easy

I know the beginning to "Blue" by The Jayhawks–I just love that simple but lovely melody–so I play that a lot…
…and when I get frustrated trying to learn new stuff–I always go back to "Knockin’ On Heaven’s Door"–ya can’t beat that G-C-D combo..the same with Pink Floyd’s (well, Roger Waters’
) "Two Suns In The Sunset"–’till you get to the bridge–then I haven’t figured the chords out
January 22, 2004 at 9:46 am #97763Fender_Strat_Matt: I know "Not For You", only ‘cos it’s just A moved up to the (is it?) third and fouth frets?? I haven’t played it in a long time–I don’t know the solo/bridge part, though
February 10, 2004 at 7:00 am #97764Led Zeppelin – Stairway to Heaven – NO REALLY!
Plus I’m teaching my mate some GN’R ballads : Yesterdays and Patience

February 12, 2004 at 8:47 am #97766Hmmm, I’ve been trying to focus on my own stuff mostly, as of late, but for keeping up my Yngwie chops
I tend to go through phases on this one… change ’em up every so often…Here’s a few:
Dinosaur Jr – Anything. I know how to play most songs from everything up through "Without a Sound". Only know a few from "Hand It Over" or the ‘Fog’ albums though… just haven’t had the time to figure them out yet. Some of my all time favs to play are Water, Over Your Shoulder, Thumb, On the Brink, Raisins, and Start Chopping. *Shameless Plug* I’ve got plenty of tabs on my website, but be warned that some of them need updating to correct the occasional error (I’ll get around to it someday, I hope).
Pixies – Pretty much just Letter to Memphis, maybe one or two others back in the day…
Karate – The Roots and the Ruin, Sever, Airport, and The Same Stars.
Teenage Fanclub – Everything Flows

Sometimes the occasional SRV ditty, when I’m feeling a little honky tonk.
March 8, 2004 at 1:32 pm #97767Opeth – The Drapery Falls amazing chord structure….
Master of Puppets
Estranged
Jawbreaker – Kiss The Bottle
Jamie – Weezer
Anything Frusciante plays
For The Love of God – Steve Vai – Favorite instrumental to playMarch 13, 2004 at 7:47 pm #97768"Not for you" is in E. You can see that on the Touring band 2000 dvd if you own it.
"Alive" is a fun song to play, as is most Pearl Jam stuff, however…"its ok" is not a pearl jam song, but still good.Out There is still as fun to play as when I learned it.
Spank Thru (nirvana) is prolly my fave Nirvana song right now, and is fun to play.
Oh, and wow!!….someone else likes Flipper here? I love flipper! "Ever" is my fave by them.
"Wheathered Statues" by T.S.O.L. is good.
