For two days now I’ve been searching for my Where You Been and J Peel Sessions albums. Without any luck.
This is what I’ve found out:
I own 1400 cd’s. I own lots of cd’s that I didn’t know I owned, for example I’ve apparently got the entire Beatles Ultra Rare Trax collection. I have cd’s I’ve never listened to, for example The Posies Amazing Disgrace. Some cd’s haven’t been played for at least 5 years, Urge Overkill’s Saturation.
Girls do not understand why I’m getting nervous and have trouble concentrating just because I can’t find two cd’s. On the other hand, girls forgive me for calling them names and making obscene gestures when they say that.
Some friends do not understand why I have to call them in the middle of the night to ask if they’ve loaned one or both of these cd’s. On the other hand, some friends get just as upset as me and offer tips as to where they can be, and voulenteer to come help me search for them.
My copy of Where You Been are 10 years old, and not in the best shape, so buying a new one is in order anyways. The Peel Sessions however is almost spanking new. But the worst part is that I can’t remember where they are. I feel like a bad parent. That’s not a good feeling.
If anyone know of a secret place where cd’s go to hide, please let me know. It’s a good thing that none of my vinyls are missing, that would have been a disaster.
January 28, 2004 at 2:10 pm #98634I understand completely!
I’ve been anxious for weeks, guy has my Sonics Rendezvous Sweet Nothin’ disc & my Essential Radio Birdman. He keeps saying he’ll bring them…still nothin
The Radio Birdman I can replace, have most of the songs on other discs/vinyl anyways but It would be pretty hard to replace Sweet Nothin’
I usually make a rule of not lending anything I can’t replace but…
I also know that The Flaming Sideburns halleljuah rock’n’rolla is somewhere in the house, I’ve looked thru everything…it’s MIA & buggin’ me…

If you find that secret spot let me know, no doubt I’ll find a few there as well
ps I don’t have your J Peel Sessions

That’s serious stuff! He’d better be handing that beauty in pretty soon or I’d go monstertrucking on his ass if I were you!And yes, will let you know if I find the secret hiding place!!
January 28, 2004 at 4:53 pm #98637hey Roberto and AGAP,
Check any old disc players you might have…
My copy of Green Mind has been missing since last January.
I found it, but can’t get to it…it’s stuck in the CD player that got yanked out of my old car after wrecking it last winter. Just to lazy to hook it up to something else and eject it, but am positive (95%) that’s where it is :slap:
January 28, 2004 at 5:32 pm #98638i got a 120gb harddrive, and i am in the process of ripping all of my cds to it. i am only up to "henry’s dress" and here are the stats:

anywho, one of my hives cds is missing…and i have no clue where it is
and i have been going nuts for days. also, all will have the little album cover thing in the lefthand cornerJanuary 28, 2004 at 5:48 pm #98639Oh, I bet that’s a time consuming task! But, once you’re done you’ll be able to put together one hell of a playlist!
Strange deal about the album covers, they’re on the whole icon on my folders.January 29, 2004 at 4:34 am #98640"king of carrot flowers" wrote:i got a 120gb harddrive, and i am in the process of ripping all of my cds to it. i am only up to "henry’s dress" and here are the stats:

January 29, 2004 at 5:12 am #98641I dont have so many CD:s that i wouldnt know where they are, but ive been thinking about other things that dissapear mysteriously. For example, you see about 1000 living birds everyday, but only one dead bird in a year. Where do they go? Quite interesteing huh?

Its the same with squirrels, i have no idea where they go. Maybe they are immortal or something.. :/
January 29, 2004 at 7:21 am #98642I don`t have that many cd`s as I could have had since I traded and sold alot but I got 400 tapes with cd`s taped on them and it`s really hard to find an album I`m looking for
so when it`s really random when I find stuff to listen to,I listen to what I can find
I also have 35 cd`s I`ve never listened to.Maybe I`ll list them off and you can vote on what I should listen to
January 29, 2004 at 7:35 am #98643do you have a little sister? try her room, works for me

Good idea!

only two minor setbacks to that plan:
1. I don’t live at home
2. When I lived at home she would complain that my music made her ears bleed. She’s studying ballet though, so what can you expect?
January 29, 2004 at 10:12 am #98645yeah, its taking forever. my drive is supposed to rip at 52x, but it seldom goes above 4x. can’t figure out how to fix it. usually put one in whenever i am home (which is seldom)
January 31, 2004 at 12:08 pm #98646desperately missing: Built To Spill (There’s Nothing Wrong With Love), Ugly Casanova (Sharpen Your Teeth), Modest Mouse (Moon & LCW), MBV (Isn’t Anything). in one second they were still there, in another they left to that hiding place
If anyone has seen them, please tell them tp come back! …having the mp3’s isn’t nothing but it’s not the same

I rather d/l the albums I own from slsk than to rip my cd’s, because I think it’s more convenient.
For ripping CD’s, I’d recommend dB poweramp because if you’re online it’s connected to the AMG database & names the tracks automatically
January 31, 2004 at 3:16 pm #98647I Dont have them
