I`ve heard those 2 songs of course but I don`t think I`ve heard the rest. Some of that SST stuff is`nt that easy to find around here.
March 5, 2004 at 5:26 pm #100500The worlds most underrated album is Where You Been
That record should have put Dino up with nirvana etc, it should have sold 2 million copies. Every sign was there, the record was perfect for the time or zeitgeist if you wish. So there you have it. Forget eleventh dream day, where you been is your answer.March 6, 2004 at 8:26 am #100501There is a band called The National. I dont know if its too young to already call "underrated", but it hasn’t got as much attention as it deserves.
March 8, 2004 at 6:57 am #100502why do you think where you been wasn’t more successful ? what was the deal w/that ?
March 8, 2004 at 7:10 am #100503I think Where You Been did ok.I usually see it on alot of best of `93 lists,it got alot of play on the college station here, the Start Choppin,Out There, and Get Me videos were on Musicmusic from time to time back then(too bad they don`t play them now)I think it`s the most popular Dino album,at least from my perspective from living in Canada.
March 8, 2004 at 10:32 am #100504I’m not saying it flopped, just that it didn’t reach the popularity/sales etc that it was "expected" to. And I’m not saying J shared those expectations, though I’ve heard people mentioning that he’s expressed some "bitterness" due to the fact that it didn’t do better. But a lot of people on his label, critics etc thought it would do better. And it certainly is more than good enough to convert critical acclaim into sales. Why it didn’t do so I do not know. As I’ve said earlier in this thread, it was a perfect album for it’s time.
