Anyone?
August 1, 2004 at 12:03 pm #103764Yes, wicked crazy guitar. Songs been stuck in my head for days
anyone know if the new Fog recorded this song, or did J just record everything himself
August 2, 2004 at 9:40 am #103765J probably did it himself well its definately him on guitar and drums and singing. It was probably recorded a while ago because the compilation probably took a while to put together and release.
August 2, 2004 at 3:40 pm #103766yeah, good theory, ammaringnyc.
hope someone can confirm this?I like the cover song, the different layers of guitars on J’s version of Guitar Wolf’s "Cyborg Kids" are woven in a souvereign way, accompanied by relaxed vocals. I like how the soloing sorta never stops throughout the song.
I also just listened to the original Guitar Wolf version of Cyborg Kids to compare this evening. their guitars are definitely great, with the guitars and especially the singing in a forward hellacopters way, not in the dreamy way J puts it, but it was a very interesting comparison indeed

And like Robert says, those Guitar Wolf guys are the Japanese bastard sons of the Hellacopters  …and can a band be bad who have an album that’s called "Kung Fu Ramone" ?

guess I’ll check them out a bit closer.August 2, 2004 at 4:13 pm #103767Yeah, GW is cool
And the album "Jet Generation," that Cyborg Kids is featured on is great.
I think J’s version is a lot more "mellow" than the original. And it sort of disappointed me a bit, because I had hoped that I would finally hear some good old J screaming again
But I like the guitarwork + how he’s "layered" them, and the fact that he’s stretched it out to over 5 minutes, whereas GW stopped at approx 3 and a half. So all in all a great song, and it was cool that he ended up with something sort of different, which is the beauty of good covers.August 2, 2004 at 4:21 pm #103768J is never screaming, that was always lou, or lee renaldo
August 2, 2004 at 4:35 pm #103769Well I gotta say that it sounds to me like he’s screaming a lot, especially live during the early 90’s. Download the wagon from Dinosaurs Are Still Alive on freesofree, that’s what I’m missing.
August 2, 2004 at 4:44 pm #103770I have had Dinosaurs are still alive for 11 years and I don’t consider that screaming just bad singing because of a pa.
August 2, 2004 at 4:47 pm #103771Ok, then I guess I stand corrected
Perhaps shouting is the correct phrase.August 2, 2004 at 6:15 pm #103772I kinda figured it was J on guitar & singing

Was wondering about bass & drums, also thought there might have been someone else doing a vocal line (cyborg kids distorted voice @ 3:16)
Gotta love that bastard sons of the Hellacopters description of GW
:aliensmile:August 3, 2004 at 7:10 am #103773what about the screaming on ‘The Little Baby’ – isn’t that J ?

It is J on drums to and the vocal line is either computer generated or it could even be J vocoded.
