Got this update on ‘We Jam Econo – the story of the Minutemen’ through the Mike Watt mailing list 8) :

      Hello Everyone,

I know that folks are itchin’ for the latest info on the Minutemen documentary so here is a mini update

We’ve done nearly 50 interviews and have collected some unbelievable live footage. We’ve also tracked down over 400 photographs, the large majority of which have never been scene before.

Here are a few of the folks we interviewed:

      Milo Auckerman
      Dez Cadena
      Nels Cline
      John Doe
      Flea
      Greg Ginn
      Richard Hell
      George Hurley
      Kira
      Ian Mackaye
      J Mascis
      Thurston Moore
      Keith Morris
      Raymond Pettibon
      Henry Rollins
      Mike Watt

The film will be finished in September. The exact premiere date is yet to be determined, but it will be at the Warner Grand in San Pedro. After that we will be hitting a number of arthouse theaters at major cities for weekend engagements.

We want to avoid the hectic holiday release schedule so the DVD is going to hit the store shelves early next year although you should be able to order it off of our website before that.

Thanks so much for all of the support and interest that we’ve received.

If anyone has any photos, flyers, or live footage that they’ve been sitting on, please get in touch right away so we can take take a look and include them in the film!

      Thanks everyone!

                      Hi all.

Great news about the documentary. Any plans to show it over here in England at all?

Bucky Ramone – if you’re involved with finding venues, make sure you get in touch with All Tomorrow’s Parties.

I’ll write to the press email address you gave to see if I can do something. I have an idea ;)

Off topic, but can’t stay long – Great news about the Dinosaur reunion gig with the original line-up – will be at that deffo.
Check out http://www.mrspilgrimm.de for some sweet cello. MrsP is part of the 4’10’ers which comprise of Stevo Mathewson/Lou Barlow, and new recruit, Thurston Moore and are touring Europe soon. MrsP lives down the road from me and is a top woman. Also down the road (in Northampton UK) I’m sorting out a gig by Worlds Dirtiest Sport/The Bugs/I’m Being Good – free entry. (Worlds Dirtiest Sport being a spin off of Trumans Water for those Trumans afficionados amongst you). When things get confirmed I’ll give it a shout on here.

Can’t wait to see this Minutemen doc – never knew it was going on!. For me, the greatest ever 3-piece. Cheers.
