      PLAN B UPDATE

      18.03.05

Fun, fun, fun. In the sun, sun, sun.

      1. ORDER PLAN B ISSUE 5
It‚s out the week beginning 4th April, 2005, and for the first time is available in all good newsagents, as well as the usual outlets: Borders, HMV, Virgin Megastore, and all great independent record shops, including Rough Trade, Phonica, Monorail, Selectadisc, Rounder and Smallfish. It‚s our biggest and we think our best issue yet, featuring the likes of: Arcade Fire, Ellen Allien, M Ward, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Nirvana, Lance Bangs, Hood, Prefuse 73, Slint, Sway, Tracy & The Plastics, Alisdair Roberts, Glass Candy, Born Heller, M.I.A, Dinosaur Jr, White Magic, Electrelane, and all the best in underground and cult film, DVDs, books, videogames, art and comics.

You can also pre-order from http://www.planbmag.com/order, or ask our mailorder (and obscure UK hip-hop) expert Richard Stacey to answer any questions: richard@planbmag.com.

the founder + editor of this mag is everett true aka the legend! …

his last magazine was called careless talk costs lives + it was an awesome mag … great pics, solid writing … so i’m going to keep an eye out for this issue …

also … he was a key writer/journalist in the early 90s for melody maker (i think!) … he was responsible for the popularisation of all the sub pop bands + dinosaur jr etc …

he lives in brighton + when j + the fog played brighton in 2001 he hung out w/j + the other guys … mike watt mentions this in his diary … he has some story of how he had a toothache after one of j’s shows + j mentioned his dad was a dentist + j’s dad fixed his tooth the next day … :D

there’s this writer guy (music critic) too who used to sign his name as "the legend." j’s known his a while, his pop even fixed this guy’s teeth once when he visited amherst to do spiel w/j. he tells me I have nice hair but then is kind of belligerent to one of the scottish ladies, keeps calling her "posh." I don’t gather exactly what he means but by the tone of his voice, you can tell it’s mean. the lady keeps telling him he’s got the wrong idea but he won’t let up. damn, what’s up w/that? I shake my head and bail, enough of that nonsense. konk time for me anyway, should’ve done that right out of the tub earlier.
