      Hey

      Anyone here having experience with making yr. own stompboxes/effects??.

      I´m no technical dude at all,but the idea of making yr. own effects inspired me….Especially when I think about how pricey some of that nice vintage stuff is….And how crappy some of the re-issues sound.

      Is it possible to make a device that sounds almost as good as a vintage uni-vox fuzz,without having to buy one for 100´s of $ f.x.??.(Not that I would expect to hit it off in one try).And where do you start when you have no experience with electronics?.

      Any comments much appriciated!! :)

        I don’t know much about making stompboxes, but I do know that parts are cheaper then the cost of the box, so it if can figure out how to make them it’ll be worth your while.

              If you want to check out a book, try "Electronic Projects for Musicians" by Craig Anderton. It’s an old book, but still very relevant, especially if you’re into analog effects.

                Yep….That book you mention:Does it explain it so even a 5 y.o. would understand?.I have no knowledge on the subject whatsoever,and I did´nt listen in physics-class way back…And english is´nt my first language,so I might have a slight problem there.God…I would like to have a friend who knew a little about it,so I could watch and learn.Anyway…Do you know if I can order this book over the internet or something?.Oh yeah…And we use 220v here…How do I go about that compared to 110v?

                  You should be able to find it on Amazon.com, or just about any online bookstore.

                  If I remember correctly (I haven’t seen this book in years) it was written so that a beginner could follow it pretty easily.

                  As for the voltage difference…. I would assume that most of the circuits in the book are going to run from 9VDC, so you would either run them from a battery, or from a "wall wart" transformer. As long as the transformer is a 220VAC to 9VDC you should be all set.

                    I bought the book via ebay.

                    9v?.Yes off course….sorry.Some guy said there would be a problem with voltage if I got a pedal from a US or another country using 110?.Don´t know what he meant?
