I’ll be attending. I know of a few more folks but, I think most of the Lawrence Dino fan base has moved on. I heard ticket sales haven’t been strong.

What a show! The set list was quite similar to those others posted on this site. During Raisins, an audience member knocked J.’s mic into his mouth. He had a mini meltdown and stomped off the stage midsong. A few minutes later the band reappeared and continued the set where they had left off.
This show was fucking LOUD!!!. Ear plugs are a good idea. On occasion, I would remove my plugs, it was like standing next to a jet engine. Lou has a Marshall stack, an Ampeg cabinet powered by a Marshall head. J. has two Marshall stacks, a Fender cab and a stack of processers. The aplified force of the music vibrated beer in the can at 35 feet. If anyone reading this is on the fence about attending, please go. High Quality show. Great walk up crowd. Venue 3/4 full. Thank you Dinosaur Jr!

It was good. The vibe was weird when the guy knocked the mic into j’s mouth. If they hadn’t come back and finished, the guy would have been pounded. Not by me, but I feel quite sure about it.

There is always that guy at the show who has to do something ridiculous to ruin it for everyone else.. At the Nashville show, some kid kept getting on the stage and then jumping into the crowd. He did it about three times before he finally got kicked off the stage. (Thank you Kevin Sweeney for ameliorating the problem!) He was just standing there like a moron flailing his arms around in hopes that someone might catch him when flew on top of them..

I’m glad J was able to finish the set despite the mic in the mouth. Midwestern charm or not, that guy would have been massacred by the crowd..

i know the guy who caused the mic fiasco. in his defense, we talked to him after the show and he said that he was headbanging and accidentally hit his head into the mic stand. i was on the other side of the venue so i didn’t see it happen, only the aftermath. what a crazy moment. the guy was drunk and i’m sure didn’t really mean any ill will. i guess j. wouldn’t go back on until he left that area of the crowd. otherwise, that show was pretty incredible!

One more thing. The Just Like Heaven encore was really well done. Freak Scene had all the energy that makes it such a great song. It’s interesting to watch J. He seems like he’s half-slumbering to look at him, but the energy that pops out of the songs is just as raw and youthful sounding as ever. It’s a contrast.

I wish everyone would stop defending J’s behavior at the Lawrence show. I was sitting up on the balcony and I saw everything as it happened.

The guy on the front accidentally bumped into the microphone. I’m surprised that it hadn’t happened sooner considering it was sitting right at the edge of the stage against the crowd. Everyone’s making it sound like he had some sort of malicious intent in bumping into the microphone. After he bumped into it, he tried to move it back where it was but J grabbed it and threw it on the ground. He then threw his guitar on the ground and stormed off the stage to pout.

At this point, Lou proceeded to call the guys on the front "dicks" without even knowing what happened. The crowd began to chant "Dinosaur! Dinosaur!" while some of the rest of us booed J’s behavior. If you’re going to pay close to 30 bucks to see a band, you shouldn’t have to beg them to finish a set. If anything, they sounded better after the accident as it seemed to give the band an added edge that was missing up to that point. J should have been thanking the guy for improving what was in my opinion a dissapointing show.

It seems to me that J’s never really matured. I just feel bad for the rest of the band who signed up for this reunion tour. He might be a musical genius but I wish everyone would stop standing up for his character.

when J left stage, Lou could have done a sebadoh song … after that they could have played feel the pain.

wow … WTF do you know about his ‘character’ ? ::) Maybe he wanted to see if his tooth was chipped or something ? He sings very close to the mic so it’s entirely possible.

The show was so amazing. Forget the swan was fuckin stunning. in fact during the mic incident, i was right in front by J. I was behind the drunk guy rocking out who knocked the mic over. He was rocking and being completley drunk, then the mic tips over and j’s like Fuck and he tried to keep going and playin the chords but he fucked up and he threw the mic during raisans. It was so crazy being right up infront seeing dinosaur jr. seeing god. wow. they kinda slopped thru the last songs after j got hit in the face with the mic. you can tell they were pissed off. Amazing show tho, too see them breakdown like that..wasnt expecting it. They played the best set ever…kracked,no bones, sludgefeast, mountainman, forgettheswan,Just like heaven, lose, littlefurythings(incredible), and i think they played tarpit. Damn im still deaf, tried to mosh but everyone there was drinking and doing their thing. anyone remember that guy with alot of hair ,striped shirt in front rockin out??? twas me.

                              wow…
                              amazing show

Then he could have just stopped and said "hey, I need to get this looked at". From the way he reacted he looked more pissed off than concerned or worried about his mouth. He just stood there for several seconds, not even holding his mouth, before he knocked the mic stand over. No one acted worried about his physical condition. All the roadies seemed like they were more upset that someone had set J off on a tantrum than concerned about his mouth. I just don’t think someone his age in his position should be acting like that.

Now if Lou had gone and played a Sebadoh song…the whole situation would have been MUCH cooler.

                                  fucking drunk assholes all over.
