Out of all the acts that have opened for dinosaur jr which did u like the best ?

Although I didn’t see them i think Comets on Fire is the best band that opened for dinosaur jr. Out of the ones i saw i’d pick sunburned hand of the man.

I wish dead meadow would of played in KS, we had Priestess and some hardcore screamo band. :(

I think the band was called Love as Laughter when I saw them last August. They were pretty good.

I thought that bunch of roadies that set up Preistess’ equipment was pretty good until I found out, er……that WAS Preistess. Seriously, that’s the first time I’ve ever seen a band of any weight set up their own equipment (and later help Dinosaur). Weird….

In clubs, I think it’s pretty common. I’ve seen Stereolab, Sonic Youth, the Shins, Tortoise and even geezers like Wire and the Fall (and all way ‘bigger’ than Priestess) set up their own gear. In fact, one of my most disgusted feelings at any show was watching like 3 roadies do everything for Interpol when they played the Empty Bottle in Chicago (like 200 people, tops) like 3 yrs ago. They brought them towels onstage, fetched them water bottles, gave backstage passes to the hot chicks ;) . It was all too Rockstar for me to handle :)

I will have to concur – It is refreshing to see bands carry their own equipment. Regardless of their music, Priestess really are good guys. They are all quite humble and you’ll notice how many times the singer thanks the audience for standing there while they play.

Oh yeah, I wasn’t ragging the band. I just found it peculiar they set up their own equipment and later helped Dionsaur Jr too. They were really humble on stage and even hung out at the t shirt stand after their gig. Didn’t care much for their music, though….

Preistess was actually pretty ok. I was on the bass side so I got tons of bass riffage.
