I found this competition on CDBABY.NET this morning…(UK only)..hope it helps
Open to all solo artists and bands, O2 Undiscovered is a search to find the UK’s best up-and-coming music talent. Our panel of judges won’t care how you do your hair or what you look like. We just want to hear music that’s fresh and original. Whether you’re into garage, grime, indie, folk, art pop, whatever – all that counts is you and your sound.
One main prize winner will receive an O2 Undiscovered Bursary. The bursary includes recording and releasing a track with one of the UK’s leading record labels, mentoring by industry professionals, the chance to perform at the O2 Wireless Festival and more. Additionally, we want to recognise original artists from within O2 so the most talented O2 customer will receive a special industry opportunity.
Get heard by the industry’s most powerful peopleThe panel includes some of the music industry’s most influential figures, including Vince Power – founder of the Mean Fiddler Group, Lucio – the Xfm Drivetime DJ, and Simon Gavin – A&R Director of Polydor Records, the man who discovered the Kaiser Chiefs, Daniel Bedingfield and Snow Patrol. Your demo could get in their hands.
The best entries will get shortlisted. And as the search progresses, this will get shorter and shorter, until we’re down to the final winning act.
If you’re the type with thousands of tracks on your MP3, this is your chance to hear the freshest new talent out there. You’ll be able to hear all the entries in the Sound Gallery and discuss tracks on the Message Boards. And what you think counts. When the shortlist is down to the final 10, you’ll be able to vote for the act you want to win.
