Dino blitz on Red fm
NOTHING like a bit of monumental noise to wake the neighbourhood and Clash, the indie rock ‘n’ roll outreach project, on Red fm intends to deliver the distortion and raging riffs this Sunday at 10pm. Coinciding with Rhino Records’ remastered and extended releases of Dinosaur Jr’s Green Mind and Where You Been albums, the Clash crew readies up a slice of J. Mascis’s genius for the masses.
Both albums, released in the early 1990s, will be reissued in Malaysia next month.
But Clash gets to the front of the queue with a shred-fest special while not forgetting the bonus material loaded on these remastered gems. With a massive lift in the speaker-blowing sound, these deluxe editions should get the band’s fans (and newcomers) thinking about reinvesting in Dino catalogue.
For the Dinosaur Jr faithful, have a say in what post Bug era essentials makes the Clash playlist by e-mailing (clash@thestar.com.my).
Whether The Wagon, Puke + Cry, Thumb and Water or Out There, Start Choppin, Get Me, Hide and Not The Same, make a case for the best Dinosaur Jr moment during its Sire years.
Also set to make the first team on Clash this weekend is new music from Dirty Pretty Things, Fiery Furnaces, Neil Young, Hot Chip, Snow Patrol, Broken Social Scene and more. Listen online at (http://www.red1049.com.my).
