i don’t hear much discussion on this song. this is one of the most beautiful songs J has ever written. most hardcore Dinosaur fans go to their first three records, which are my favourites, too. but Green Mind has this some sort of ‘acoustic-y’ vibe and really brings out J’s songwriting, though I do really feel his best songs were pre-Green Mind.
Flying Cloud is really ‘atmospheric’ and different from many of J’s acoustic songs. apart from "Thumb", its my favourite on Green Mind.
I’ve always liked How’d You Pin That One On Me, Muck is the one I don’t like on green mind then probably Flying Cloud although it has grown on me alot more, I don’t skip it anymore

yeah, Muck isn’t the best. but i listen to it all the time just for the "hold back, hold back" line.
I would just sort of listen to the music of flying cloud and not pay much attention to the lyrics. Not long ago I satrted to listen to the words and was surprised to learn it was about a skiing trip. Crazy.
Yeah, the skiing thing is weird. I didn’t believe it at first but it really is about a girl at a ski resort.
Apparently J is an avid skiier. Didn’t they do a music video up on a mountain (ski resort)? I wanna say it was at Whistler in B.C.
Anyways I guess J like the snow.
