I was on the EH site today and saw that J endorses the Metal Muff. There is even a clip of him playing it (so the website says). J has repeatedly said that his favorite pedal is his Big Muff. Maybe he uses the Metal Muff for recording. Who knows.

uhmm yah he plays a muff but like the orginal 60s and 70s
but i dunno i might be wrong…July 31, 2006 at 11:11 am #119826I think it was J playing the clip, why would they lie, he is definately playing the flanger clips. I don’t think he uses the pedal, but than again he doesn’t use a bunch of the pedals he has really anymore.

yah i just mean on the metal muff i mean it just doesnt sound like js tone you know
i dunno if thats j playing the flanger hoax i always thought he used an electric mistress
it sounds close but i dunnoAugust 1, 2006 at 8:41 am #119828To me the metal big muff sounds a lot like the sound J has live, when he plays with his jazzmaster in brigde pick up position. this riff is kinda 70s blues rock riff where he adds fast tremolo picking. sounds like J to me.
and the flanger thing sounds very like J, sounds like he is playing D-C with the kind of D chord he uses on blowing it and does it float. and trademark J solo on top. -
