August 31, 2006 at 11:31 am #121016No Murdervan, just Mouthus opened.
Dinosaur were great last night, despite having to use replacement gear. Looks like J grabbed one of his Jazzmasters and some basic pedals from back home. Lou was using a Firebird which did the job just fine. No real surprises, but definitely a great show (they seemed in good spirits, especially Murph). Highlights included Tarpit & Does It Float. Mountain Man was the perfect closer (I couldn’t resist jumping into the crowd, who were nice enough to not let my drunken body hit the floor too hard). Great to see them play CT finally. Too bad for the band it wasn’t a sell-out show, but it was nice that it wasn’t jam packed.
August 31, 2006 at 1:25 pm #121017great show!! i got some pics below i took during the encore, when i finally got a good spot to take a bunch. i was kinda mad the crowd wasnt really into the show till like the encore it seemed to me…..they went thru a lot to even play there last night, i wish their was some more enthusiasm shown, but thats new haven for ya. the hipsters dont liek to show too much emotion at shows in new haven, haha….i had a great time though, they sounded great! i tried to keep track of the setlist but after the 4th song i lost track, haha
i also got a good vid from my digital camera of Just like Heaven, if anyone wants to see it i can throw it up on soulseek

August 31, 2006 at 1:34 pm #121018umm i dont know where you were but the crowd up front was pretty enthusiastic …yeah, they totally pulled it off and had a really good show. i’m just really happy they finally came back to play here

and yes Mountain Man fucking rocked hardcore!
August 31, 2006 at 1:39 pm #121019yeah, for the encore…i dont know where you were, but 5 or 6 songs in and only a handful of people were even movin their heads. upfront was kinda movin and really got movin for the encore….if you looked behind you…you would have seen a lot of people, arms folded barely moving

August 31, 2006 at 2:02 pm #121022Thanks for the pics. Did you notice what or how many guitars J used, is that a strat in the first pic?
August 31, 2006 at 2:05 pm #121023ummm….i know for sure he used the newer blue jazzmaster with the blue headstock for most of the songs…not sure what else
August 31, 2006 at 2:06 pm #121024yeah, i was too busy dancing like a weirdo to turn around
those are some nice shots – as far as the set-list they played all of YLAOM (excluding Poledo), Forget the swan, Gargoyle, the Wagon, Does it Float, Freakscene and the closer Mountain Man…we screamed for the Leper but oh well…maybe next time
oh and i think he used 3 guitars – he only used the strat on mountain man – i think
