The smell of sauerkraut and kielbasa floats into one’s nostrils as you enter what looks to be a Junior High School auditorium, but the Warsaw ain’t your typical venue. In fact this club located between Williamsburg and Greenpoint in Brooklyn is an actual Polish community center during the day and randomly plays host to interesting national acts at night.

Headlining your grandma’s daytime bridge club are the behemoths of psychedelic indie rock, Dinosaur Jr. It has been over a year now since the original members have reunited and they are continuing to pummel live crowds with sonic interplay. Overall the show was a bit rawer then their last NYC appearance at Irving Plaza which they filmed for a future DVD release and which by all accounts was a staggering success. Tonight started with the same song “Tarpitâ€

I think it’s from Japan (Tokyo) 2006, I think the only shows where J used 4 stacks so far…

yeah, the four stacks didn’t quite add up, I had a hard time seeing them being used in a daytime bridge club type venue… ;)

              great pic though!

I almost think he just didn’t know any better. He sounded like a fair weather fan, I mean come on, how indie are you if you can’t recognize Lou Barlow?

it’s definitely a shame about that Lou deal, as well as a couple other points he made that weren’t in any way related to music… ::)

but he did have a lot of good things to say about the music, so like Maxini said, lets forgive him ;D

I’ve met and talked to a lot of fans of the newer generation of ‘indie’ bands. When I mention Lou Barlow- most of the time they have no idea who he is! What utterly perplexes me is that I live in Amherst MA, the home of Dinosaur JR. Some of them don’t even know who Dinosaur Jr is. Yes, these people are usually not even 20 yet- but come on.
