I was curious if anybody knew who did the horrendous vocals on these two late Lou-period Dino Jr covers of other bands’ songs (Neil Young and Byrds, respectively). It doesn’t really sound like J or Lou…is it Murph? I don’t think so. Actually whoever it is only does backing vocals on the Byrds cover but in my opinion it absolutely ruins the song. Anyways…thoughts?

um just a wild guess but i’m thinking it’s lou…maybe murph will lay down some backing vocals on the new album though

October 14, 2006 at 5:30 pm #122621a certain jcrumblie had a cool little bio of Artie…
Quote:Artie, the media-sensation that almost never was, was a demented social experiment gone awry at UMass Amhurts in the mid-80’s. Artie presented himself to two Brett dormdwellers as an opportunity to alleviate the deadening routine of partygoing during those darkest chapters of college life. Under their shameful supervision, Artie rose to the early occasions splendidly. But he kept rising, ascending, like Willy Wonka’s glass elevator, beyond all social boundaries until, inevitably, the crash-and-burn grisly end of it all (which, of course, was not really the end of it all). For dino fans, Artie appeared at several early gigs, putting all of himself into a short selection of Neil Young covers. But that contribution is negligible when compared to his brilliant collaboration with Ms. Maura Jasper. Yes, that’s Artie himself rising over the peak of Mt. Wherever on the cover of the first dinosaur lp. Artie is the sun.
Who loves the sun? Had he known, Lou Reed surely wouldn’t have asked that. But J knew. His answer? Take a run at the sun….October 16, 2006 at 9:39 am #122622So who’s standing in the flowers? Anyone know the answer to that?
October 16, 2006 at 2:16 pm #122623No idea. Though one can only assume those flowers are the Bulbs of Passion.
January 8, 2007 at 7:43 pm #122624Sorry to bump this, guys, but I’ve been trying to find an MP3 of the "I’ll Feel a Whole Lot Better" cover to no avail. I’m a huge fan of the Byrds (namely Gene Clark, who wrote the song), and would love to hear how the guys tackle this. Hopefully, there’s no objection to this, seeing as "Time Between" has been out of print for many years.
Thanks in advance!February 18, 2007 at 1:46 pm #122625I have the MP3 if you want it. I can email it to you..
