I’m not sure about J’s birth certificate but my son is named after his father, he is a Jr. but this is NOT
listed on his birth certificate, it is a term used so as to call attention to the fact that you share an exact name with another person (father), to also let others know you were named "after" someone and to differentiate between the two persons, when nessecary. My sisters husband is a lll (a trip) named after his father and grandfather but this is also not specified on the birth certificate. Unless someone has seen his birth certificate or knows then we don’t know if this Jr. is an official part of his name or just a title given by design due to circumstance.

on this birth info from South Dakota, you will see a suffix box (Jr.etc.) this is sort of a new thing with birth certificates and is not on mine nor found on my childrens (born in the 90’s)
