try a epiphone valve head. its purely amazing, its really popular these days. all valve state, only one knob. theres no distortion onboard, but as it gets louder it gets more distorted.

then buy a cheap 1×12 cab because the valve junior is only a head.

save up for a distortion pedal. onboard distortion on most amps suck

Yeh I would have recommended the same amp. My friend has one and I really love it. It’s really small so it’s easy to carry around and the tone is really good. You would be suprised how loud it actaully goes to for it’s size and it has a whole bunch of built in effects like a flanger, phaser etc etc. It’s also really really good if you want to make noise, the delay is really good and some of sounds you can get are amazing.

I would give it 10/10 for it’s price and size

hey,the Fender Sidekick 15 Reverb was my first amp and I still have it. The pots are just dirty……get them cleaned, I have the same problem with mine. I really havent heard better cleans (to me) than Fender amps, not even the simulators some amps have sound as good (again….to me). The distortions aren’t that grand, but I still like them a lot. I would just clean that amp a bit and save your money for a slightly bigger amp. Remember, just because it’s bigger doesn’t mean that you have to play loud, big amps sound really good at low volumes too. Try out an old Fender M-80, they can get VERY loud but have a tone kinda like a Twin Reverb. They however are not as loud as Marshall Mosfet amps, they sound great too. These three amps are solidstate but the latter two sound like tube amps….and they do a very good job of it. The Mosfet sounds a LOT like a JCM800.

It depends on what you’re going after tone wise, the Fender tones, Marshall, Ampeg (yeah, they made guitar amps too) etc. What tone are you going for? I know what tone you have now, personally I like that tone. That amp is still a main recording amp for me. Also, the speakers have a lot to do with your tone, dont like your current tone? Change your speaker, it’s not going to cost a lot as it has an 8" speaker. Get a Jenson or something off of Ebay (I can get you a link to a store on Ebay with really cheap speakers). Also, try taking the back off of that combo, that helped my amps tone quite a bit. Open backed amps seem to sound better to me for some reason.

Try some of this and see if it helps…
