turntable. It´s very pretty. Maybe not as pretty as my old rega, but when I crawled back into the appartment after polishing the stairs with my back I sort of just collapsed ontop of it and it broke in two. Thus, as I was in the hospital tripping on all the painkillers in the world some friends of mine was out and bought me a new one, to avoid the terror of having an appartment without a functioning turntable when I got back. And as soon as I figured out how to start it, the button was under it infact, it was blasting out everything I fed it with pristine freshness, nothing makes it flinch or budge, it just does exactly what it´s supposed to. And to my astonishement it does so better than the rega, so I guess breaking some stuff in my back had some positive sides to it after all.
December 9, 2006 at 7:09 pm #123927sweet, vynil is the life blood of the music universe, what’s the brand and such?
happy spinning…
December 9, 2006 at 7:16 pm #123928Life blood of the music universe indeed. I don´t think I´ve bought a cd in…3 years, it´s just not the same experience, both buying and listening to vinyl is something completely different compared to cd´s.
It´s a project audio rpm5

December 10, 2006 at 7:23 am #123930Apparently there are some discs in your back, and I managed to break a couple of them by falling down the stairs. The fun part of it is that I had just gotten out of the hospital after a stint of (I have no idea what the english word is,) and so I had only 3 days of freedom before I was sent straight back. But they say my back will be good as new, just a lot older, it´ll just take some time to heal, and so I´m a happy camper. Would´ve been boring if I had seriously fucked my back by just falling down some stairs.
December 10, 2006 at 8:56 am #123931My discs in my lower back were smashed at birth
luckily not in a way that I can`t walk.Best of luck Robert
I got a new turntable last winter. It`s kinda sensitive to big pieces of dust and scratchy records which is annoying cuz it starts skipping.Other than that it sounds ok.December 10, 2006 at 9:01 am #123932oh my, I am glad you came through that ordeal without being confined to a wheelchair. I feel lucky now, I had no idea not walking could be a result of breaking them.
Big pieces of dust ? Aren´t you using a vinyl brush + cleaning your platter now and then SG ?December 10, 2006 at 10:28 am #123933Good to hear you’ll be as good as new

Have lotsa rest, don’t let them take away your painkillers too soon and let it take the time it needs to heal.December 10, 2006 at 10:35 am #123934Thanks maxini, and you need not to worry -I´ve got enough pills to see me through this, and then some.
Back to sweden for christmas ? Glögg and julmust ?December 10, 2006 at 11:45 am #123935"Robert " wrote:Big pieces of dust ? Aren´t you using a vinyl brush + cleaning your platter now and then SG ?When you play a record enough the dust comes off anyway but sometimes these big pieces come out of nowhere onto the disc.I think once the needle gets more use it`ll be less sensitive.

December 11, 2006 at 1:19 pm #123937I think vacuum cleaners are an european invention.

Lutefisk og pinnekjøtt?
December 11, 2006 at 1:26 pm #123939A year or so ago I dated a girl from Falkenberg, she insisted that we from time to time went to ikea to eat meatbolls and bulk up on kalles kaviar and knäckebröd. Wow, christmas with the parents in law, you´re not the young juggler anymore I guess

Lutefisk, pinnekjøtt, ribbe og akevitt !
