I got an idea! Maybe it’s done before.
I got a pretty good collection of Dino/J records. I guess.
But I think there’s people out there with much larger collections than mine.
So I’m a little curious about how many records people got.The one’s I think of is:
Dinosaur Jr records.
J Mascis records.
J Mascis + The Fog records.
Bootlegs
And maybe Records where J does something. Like the Witch, The Lemonheads records etc.I’ll post my list later today.

I guess this is nothing compared to others. But it’s fun to know how good my collection is.December 30, 2006 at 3:23 pm #124451I’ve got almost all of those (with the exception of one or two of the singles) plus a couple of other bootlegs in addition to the ones you have there. Of course, there’s also a ton of stuff from FsF that could also fall in the bootleg category.
December 30, 2006 at 3:40 pm #124452I don’t own too much actaully because I can never be bothered buying stuff from ebay anymore. I’ve just got all the albums on CD, the Deep Wound 7" EP, Die Barney Die 7" and The Wagon – White 7". I guess I’ll try and get everything at some point.
I’ve downloaded loads of the boots from freesofree mainly just the Lou era stuff
December 31, 2006 at 12:31 am #124453All are originals. No downloads or copied CD’s

February 20, 2007 at 10:04 pm #124456And I thought I was a fan!!! All of you have been and should be applauded!!!
I’ve just got all mass produced Dinosaur Jr CD’s and cassettes
I have had to buy a few of them more than once… hopefully J got the royalties on all of ’em
The best import ever (in my humble opinion) is the Quest (Australian Virgin) Import
Thumb w/Mark Goodier made me cry the first time I heard it… I was on a plane coming back from NY for the first time when I was 17… I had just gotten the import $31.99 from the huge Virgin megastore in NYC (I’m from Mississippi and that was the biggest city and music store I had and have ever seen… the fact that a Dinosaur Jr import even EXISTED hadn’t occurred to me) . It was a beautiful moment… I’m getting misty thinkin’ about it.

classic.Anyone have the Jad Fair album with J on it?
Steve West also did some recordings with Murph & Lou (among others) under the Slow Band moniker.

Lucky you ! I saw Steve Westfield tour with Lou 4 years ago (performing as THE 4 TENORS) and he had some early Pajama Slave Dancers LPs for sale at the beginning of the tour when I saw them for the 1st time – saw them again at the last show of the tour and the PajamaSD’s LPs where sold out

I have the Jad Fair album – "I Like It When You Smile" – J plays bass on 7 tracks; it’s one of Jad’s more "accessible" works

Lou & Murph perform on The Slow Band’s "Reject Me… First" album (1996). It’s the first time Lou played with Murph after the 1989 split from Dino… everybody made a big deal out of it when the album came out. I think they play on 3 songs of the record. It’s REALLY good, Steve Westfield’s got a great sense of humor and is an angel of a man. Unfortunately he almost quit playing music and hardly perfroms these days… I heard he’s a plumber (!)
