      looks like we have a possible release date for the new Dinosaur Jr cd, although no news on label for the disc, the DVD was to come out on May 8th originally, wonder if those two dates are mixed up… ??? ;D

      It’s been 18 years since Dinosaur Jr released their classic indie album Bug, but band members Murphy, J Mascis, and Lou Barlow have been busy as of late. On May 8 the band is scheduled to release a new studio album, while a DVD, Dinosaur Jr: Live From the Middle East, is to follow a few weeks later, on May 29.

      The DVD, distributed by Image Entertainment, is a recording of the shows that Dinosaur Jr played at Boston’s Middle East and New York’s Irving Plaza in December of 2005, as well as bits and pieces of other shows played during the 2005 reunion tour. The DVD will include interviews with the band members as well as other celebrities, the likes of which include Matt Dillon and Thurston Moore.

      As far as the album is concerned, no word yet on a title or label, but the band has been putting in some heavy recording time at Bisquiteen, the studio at Mascis’ house in Amherst, Massachusetts. (See the December ’06 issue of HARP for our “In The Studioâ€

        Seems strange that they would have the dates before Dinosaurjr.com but whatever, I just like reading articles that mention a new album and DVD. :)

          Those are Sebadoh tour dates. There’s only one Dinosaur Jr date planned on January 19th part of a party to promote the new shoe. I wish I was visited Florida on the 19th.

                  We scoop them frequently, not sure about the dates though, need a couple more confirmations online & label information before I believe it. That said…can’t wait for the tour, hopefully latenite showcases on Letterman & Conan… ;)

                    I totally believe they’ll tour. I think they’ll do it just like in 2005. usa then overseas, then usa, then overseas, a couple times.
                    Sebadoh ends end of March, so maybe a month off, then dino roars in May June or July? Wishful thinking maybe.

                        Don’t remember where it was, but I read somewhere that they’ll (Dino) be definitely touring the new album (I think Lou said it). BTW, Sebadoh might play Europe in late Summer/Fall, they have been asked to play ATP’s "Don’t Look Back" series in London and perform ALL of Sebadoh III live… :) ;D
