Greetings all. Introduction posts are always a bit odd for me as I’m never really quite sure what to say about myself. So perhaps the best way to break the ice would to tell how I discovered the wonderful band that we all know and all. T’was six years ago, when I was reading a book about Nirvana called "Come As You Are." The book named dropped Dinosaur Jr an awful lot and stressed the influence they had on Cobain, to the point of wanting to get Mascis to be Nirvana’s drummer. My interest was piqued and I sought out their music. I think the first song I heard from ’em was either "Forget the Swan" or, ironically, "Freak Scene." Needless to say I was hooked and I’ve been a fan ever since. Quaint, no? (The answer is no)
What else to say about myself? Well I’m a musician, a guitarist to be exact. I’ve been playing for nearly four years, I practice just about every single day for five to seven hours depending and I’m currently trying to find/form a band. John Frusciante of the Red Hot Chili Peppers is probably my biggest influence. Froosh’s immaculate playing in "Under the Bridge" is what made me pick up guitar in the first place and his work is constantly inspiring me to push my own skill and creativity into new directions.
Otherwise I spend a lot of my time readin’, watchin’ movies and listenin’ to music. Some of my other favourite artists are Radiohead, Beck, Gorillaz, the Flaming Lips, Blur, Stereolab, Portishead, Sonic Youth and My Bloody Valentine.
I dislike sock puppets, teleboxes and beer. I enjoy crossword puzzles, flying kites, curry and wearing awesome hats.
And I’ve run out of introductory facts.

It looks neither as imposing or simply as good as his. So I’m considering working my way into a mental breakdown as a way to follow in his footsteps. What’s the worst that could happen should I fail?
February 2, 2007 at 9:19 am #125522I like your positive, go get em attitude. And I hear all the guys in insane asylums have incredibly thick and lucious moustaches. There’s got to be a connection there. But when your wallowing in self doubt and mental anguish, make sure your moustache doesn’t turn into a goatee…That would be a mistake of disastrous purportions.
Good luck and God speed.February 2, 2007 at 9:53 am #125523hi welcome to the site!
