I know alot of you won’t have the album yet but I’m gonna tab some of it out anyway
Heres Back To Your Heart, I havn’t written out the chorus fully because it’s just repetitive and the changes are tiny. I also havn’t tabbed out the lead over the last chorus because I’m too lazy.

jeremiah. Reason: corrected tab format
February 13, 2007 at 4:28 pm #125842Yeh I really like the chord progression in the song, it’s really fun to play.
and yeh I was gonna do Almost Ready next, awesome song. Should have time to figure it out tomorrow
February 13, 2007 at 5:45 pm #125843I’ve been working out "What If I Knew…"
Would it be bad to cover this live before the album comes out?

February 13, 2007 at 9:56 pm #125845I have a gig Sunday, and was thinking about doing "Been There All The Time".

breathe your air, cut by the team
bones of a hypocrite they float by me
ashes stain, the windowsill
alarm clock dreams and a dyed black boyfeed your family, close your mind
think about the valley from time to time
These three things have never been
happy that we left but i would leave again for youback to your heart
you are the only one
sharing some, I’ll wait for you
breed your heir attend to me
tell me what you want
and I will try to be
everywhere, all the time
think about the future let the past unwind
cause you are the shining sun
the sun will come and leave again for youback to your heart
I’m pretty sure the first verse is:
breathe your air, cut my teeth
bones of a hypocrite that look like me
ashes stain, windowsill
punk rock dreams there that died… (can’t make out the next part)February 15, 2007 at 5:14 pm #125847I’m surprised no one has made mention that 2 songs on the new album are tuned in drop D. This has to be a first for J, I can’t ever remember a song of his being tuned this way. It definately adds a chugga chugga element to the new stuff (which sounds great by the way) I guess I thought it was a bigger deal than it is.
Carry on.
February 15, 2007 at 8:24 pm #125848I actually feel a little jealous over this "Back to Your Heart", I haven’t heard it and I guess all of y’all have because you got it from that Oinker site before the drain was pulled. I feel like…….geez…left out of the loop.
Onward forward, I’m happy about a few things, I was a seeing that Fat Possum is out of Oxford, Ms…..a place I actually spend time in every summer….(Two Aunts, One Uncle, Two Cousins and a Grandmother there) This July, I’ll go and get to the bottom of this early release thing…………..especially, If I start drinking, which is something we always seem to do in Oxford, and after a night of drinking, the older cousins get to help the younger cousins with life’s more serious questions like…………I wonder what would happen if we made a "crop circle" in Uncle Mikes field with gasoline and then lit it on fire? Nah, Don’t do that………..or "Lets all get naked around midnight and go over to Ellie’s house in Downtown Oxford and sit on her porch swing!…Nah, don’t do that……..you’ll get into trouble…….you need to go to bed.
Oh, I have a serious favor to ask, and this is no joke…………I was lookin’ at those "tabs" above and I was wondering.
How to you play "numbers"? like 444 and55 and 1212…………I am serious about this question…….I could understand if it was like f sharp or G or E but how does one play numbers? Is each number a note. I’m really just curious? Thanks for enlightening me.I’m just kidding of course, I do try and spend 4 or 5 days each summer in Oxford, but we let the younger group of cousins get out our Ya Ya’s for us.
February 16, 2007 at 3:23 am #125849Annastefka, here’s a pretty basic page telling you how to read them:
http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/lessons/for_beginners/reading_guitar_tablature_ii.htmlFebruary 16, 2007 at 3:53 pm #125850Yeah Its Me and Pick Me Up are tuned down. Its cool because J doesn’t play the dropped D unless he’s palm muting, he doesn’t use it for chords or anything, just some heavy chugga chugga.
I just can’t recall if J has used this tuning before, typically he stays in standard tuning and uses a capo (which he does again on the 3 fret for Crumble).
Anyways there really is some great guitar playing on this record. J’s guitar sounds alive again. I guess what I mean is these songs sound so alive when played next to albums like Green Mind and Where You Been, though those are great albums the guitar playing on this one may be J at his best, technically speaking that is. Maybe the reason is because Lou is playing Bass along side him. Its funny because as I listened to this album next to Green Mind (My Favorite) and Where You Been its very noticable that Lou is gone. The sound isn’t as full, and though I like Mike Johnson he is not Lou. Amazing the difference a Bass player can make.
Keep the tabs coming Sam, its always fun to see how you’re playing them vs. how I’m playing them.
To me the new album is metal with a fuzz pedal, and I fucking love it!

I thought it would be standard when I tried learning it. It didn’t sound right so I dropped the D and bingo.
I know ……. I couldn’t believe it either.
February 16, 2007 at 4:22 pm #125852sorry I got the songs mixed up !
I was think about ‘Pick Me Up’ not ‘It’s Me’ being in standard tuning

February 21, 2007 at 10:50 am #125854Sorry about the late reply for this, I got really frustrated with that lead. I didn’t get very far with it because of a couple of parts which sound to blurry, for the most part it’s easy to figure out though. I’ll give it another go when I get some time
