Perhaps y’all know about this already but I was just over at http://myspace.com/dinosaurjr looking at the tour dates and I read about this contest. It seems you can win if you are the Biggest FAN in your city and willing to do a little promotion for the band.
I believe I am the biggest fan in Georgia but you see……………it doesn’t seem that J Mascis is going to be leaving on the midnight train anytime soon…………………you can find out more about the contest here http://myspace.com/dinosaurjrGives lots of ideas for promotion and a link to download posters and handbills.
Doesn’t however mention one of my favorite ways to promote the band and that is buy two extra tickets for friends who may not be familiar with the music and invite them to dinner before the show.
When I was over at http://myspace.com/dinosaurjr I had the pleasure of hearing "I Got Lost" which reminded me when some of you DO go and see the band could you remind them that I 75 or I 85 South should fix the problem.

Peace…….Stefka
May 5, 2007 at 10:38 pm #128564Yeah I got a message, or they posted a bulletin or something about that. I thought to mysef, if I was the BIGGEST fan would I have already bought tickets? Anyways I totally would do up the town Dinosaur but I’m in the last 4 weeks before graduating and these are very hectic times.
May 6, 2007 at 12:22 am #128565Those shows in WA are right around the corner. The last time I saw them I bought two tickets, got comped two tickets and then bought another. So the more tickets the merrier I say. I have a bunch of "starving artist" type friends, not that I don’t at times feel like one myself. I wonder how these shows are going to go over……..they came twice to Atlanta with the "reunion" thing……….So I think some folks around here (Georgia) will need to be enlightened to the fact that they are playing new material otherwise they think…….."Oh, I’ve already done that twice, I’m spending my money elsewhere"
Perhaps that’s why we don’t have dates down South……….. we need more turnover time.
At my age, I don’t want to be in Atlanta at 2 in the morning
, When J and the Fog played Athens, a lot of my Atlanta friends said "I don’t want to be in Athens at 2 in the morning"
No one has yet to explain to me why bands don’t go on a Freakin’ 8pm………….it didn’t bother me when I was 20, it wasn’t a problem when I was 30 but man………I love my bed more that just about everything else in life and when you have children, getting into it at 3am is a real stark raving bummer. Although it is 1:22 am at the moment, I’m only up because my husband is driving home from Florida and I’m talking to him on the cell as I type (multi-tasking) because I always worry about him falling asleep while driving…………he is just now getting into Macon and I can tell he is beat. Prayer isthe only thing that keeps me from worring myself into little tiny pieces.May 6, 2007 at 2:45 am #128566"Annastefka " wrote:Those shows in WA are right around the corner.I’ll be seeing Dino this f’in Friday, Saturday, and Sunday in Los Angeles. I plan on uploading photos ‘live’ from the freak scene as soon as I figure out how……

May 6, 2007 at 1:46 pm #128568no doubt most of us have tickets already, hopefully they get lots of traffic for that contest!
