I googled for the lyrics and got the same version over and over again, but it just doesn’t sound right.
Are these really the correct lyrics for Forget The Swan? I hope not, cuz some lines just don’t make sense…—
It’s floating through the abyss
Under the brig my head swings down
Beware her wrath, the image gone
The shell is crumbling, fix my frownThis spell would be clear in non-tradition
And stepping on these pieces of pain and smirk
And rape goes through to sin my eyes
And shapes know where the heartache will lurkForget the swan, a stone swims near
A stone has come, if I could cheer
Forget the swan
Forget the swanDrifting among this rubble
I guess the waiting, wished I would
I found a box, untethered and true
Possession it understoodForget the swan, a stone swims near
A stone has come, if I could cheer
Forget the swan
Forget the swanHow I tried to warn my neighbor
But the corn was much too high
In confusion up and threw him, woke up every day
But it’s not too late brother, I’ll still say you were mineForget the swan, a stone swims near
A stone has come, if I could cheer
Forget the swan
Forget the swanForget the swan, the dreams are gone
The pain goes on, they fly at dawnForget the swan
Forget the swan
Forget the swan
Forget the swan

Budge lyrics are either completely incorrect or just random.

"How I tried to warn my neighbor
But the corn grew much too high
In confusion up and threw him, a world crawled up his back
But it’s not too late brother, I’ll still sell you a map"November 8, 2008 at 3:28 am #129413I know it’s not right, but I’ve always heard:
It’s foraging through the old things
Under the brick my head swings down
Beware her fall, demon’s gone
The shell is crumbling, I fix my frownThis spell would be clear in non-tradition
And stepping on those pieces of the pain
Again rages through to singe my eyes
And shapes know where the heartache will lurkForget the swan, the stone swings near
The stone has come, if I could cheer
Forget the swan, forget the swanDrifting among this rubble
I guessed the waiting wished I would
I found a box, untethered and true
Possession it understoodForget the swan, the stone swings near
The stone has come, if I could cheer
Forget the swan, forget the swanHow I tried to warn my neighbor
But the corn grew much too high
*In confusion of intrusion, the world crawled up his back
But it’s not too late brother, I’ll still sell you a map**(in the new live shows, J now sings the verse from Cat’s in a Bowl
"Even if I leave, someone just like me will pop out of the ground")Forget the swan, the stone swings near
The stone has come, if I could cheer
Forget the swan, forget the swanForget the swan
Forget the swan, the dreams are gone, the pain goes on,
They fly at dawnNovember 14, 2008 at 3:21 pm #129414Waylonjack is either right on or very close I think.
It seems like Lou says something after "And stepping on those pieces of the pain" but it’s totally inaudible, he may just be carrying out the note.
