First of id just like to say awesome color was amazing, and the dude with the dreadlocks who got the crowd going made the crowd energy up front awesome for them. they rocked. My favorite opener for a dinosaur tour since the Magik Markers.

Dinosaur Set was amazing. Im hearing some of the people on the forum who have seen them a bunch saying it wasnt great. I have to strongly disagree, it was by far my favorite show so far (my 17th viewing of dinosaur since july 05) and i really just thought the energy was craaazy. I had the time of my life and i could tell lots of people did. Almost ready opener was great. Back to your Heart sounded better than ever lots of new improv leads j threw in sounded great. I hadnt heard been there all the time live yet and it sounded really great esspecially with lou singing along for "is it aaall me". Im really starting to like that song alot more where’as it wasnt one of my favorites when i first got into the album.

Pick me Up was the song of the night for me sooo amazing. I was freakin’ out it was so good live. Again lou coming in on backups for "hooold on" sounded amazing. What if i knew also sounded awesome live. and Kracked->Sludge was amazing at the end of the set.

So my analysis, these new songs sound fucking great live. and i loved this show. I’ll be in vermont on sunday and its my birthday. I think im gonna video lous opener set and maybe dinosaur too if i see someone recording good audio.

      ALMOST READY
      BUDGE
      BACK TO YOUR HEART
      BEEN THERE ALL THE TIME
      LITTLE FURY THINGS
      OUT THERE
      THIS IS ALL
      FEEL THE PAIN
      PICK ME UP
      WHAT IF I KNEW
      KRACKED
      SLUDGE

      FORGET THE SWAN
      FREAKSCENE
      CHUNKS

      yes!!!

Awesome. I’ll be in VT too with Anthony. I will audio record it too, but that shouldnt stop you. Also I MIGHT be able to have a video camera on me as well… dont NOT bring one b/c I am, that could fall through.

        Should be fun.

So: yes i plan on audio recording BOTH lou and dino… i should have 2 audio recorders on me. video should cover both, hopefully itll come out its an old camera but im sure i can do some post brightening stuff. we can maybe use the recordings we both do (video and audio) and put ou the best recording we have.

It’s funny how perspectives can differ so much.

They absolutely killed last night (6/7), though. A great show all around. Here’s the setlist as far as I can recall:

            Almost Ready
            Just Like Heaven
            Back to Your Heart
(*from here it’s out of order*)
            Been There All the Time
            This is All…
            Little Fury Things
            Pick Me Up
            Crumble
            Out There
            Feel the Pain
Gargoyle (with far-out crazy extended solo at the end)
            Freak

            Bulbs
            Lose
            Raisans

            I think that’s it.

What made the difference in last night’s show being on the money, KT?

It’s hard to say, other than that the sound seemed a lot better, there was more interaction between the guys in the band, Lou and J seemed more into it, J’s singing was better, the crowd was more lively and noisy. Just a much higher level of energy and togetherness, I guess.

It just occurred to me that this is the first time I’ve seen them in the midst of a big tour since summer ’05. Since then, they’ve played NYC on little mini-tours, so they’ve always been sharp and focused. Having been on the road for nearly a month, and facing lots more touring in the coming weeks, is bound to make them tired, which means that there will be occasional "off-nights."

I just don’t get it. These guys are lame! There songs are just the same riff over and over. Even though the bass player and drummer are tight, its still just the same boring riff. Does that drummer play any fills or does she sit in the pocket all night? I don’t think I heard her play one fill(during a song) the 2 nights I saw them, just the same beat over and over.

The guitar player was lame too. One review said he showed glimpses of Stevie Ray Vuaghn. What a load of crap, he’s not even close. I can puke all over a guitar like he did too, its not that hard.

I just don’t get how lame bands get to tour with Dinosaur. I think the only one I’ve like since they reunited was Priestess.

I thought the show was great, unfortuanteely it was too good, and I got a little too wasted to make it to the second night and they played crumble which I would have loved to see live again. Oh well, hopefully they will be back one more time in the fall.

i will make video, im sure the audio on the lou video will come out good enough. i taped his last acoustic show at the higher ground with a camera (no pro audio) and it came out great. i have a better DV camera to work with this time also. I know the dinosaur audio will be blown out and distorted, i know some people that would sync up good audio with the video prolly if i asked them (the dudes who made the J + the fog middle east 04 DVD that i video’d) so we shall see how things work out.

That’s great. I will be bringing my (older) Sony 8mm video camera with me on this, as well as my trusty Olympus and a "new" one, for Lou. This one only holds 30 mins in high quality… but my Olympus holds 2 hrs 12 mins…so If someone brings a laptop to the show , there are no worries about me NOT getting both and I can just dump Lous part onto the hard drive, delete it off the recorder, and have tons of room for Dinosaur.

Im sure that the bbq and after party will be wild so maybe the camera will be shaky :-P Anyone want to see party videos? hahahahhaha. i personally think that would be classic. but perhaps what happens in vermont, should STAY in vermont.

Don’t bring that 8mm, I have a Sony DCR-TRV19 NTSC DIGITAL DV recorder I WILL bring. i’ll need to buy some tapes, but we can find some. It does not record the best audio when Dino is playing, but it will get Lou in FULL EFFECT. I don’t plan on filming the gig myself, but I will have a cam available in case someone wants to use it.
I’ll have a ThinkPAD T60 laptop running Kubuntu and XP if it’s needed as well. As well as a server (FSF) who can handle a live stream to broadcast live from the venue. And I will have broadband upload speed from the venue if VERIZON is a carrier out there. And I’ll have tons of weed. So I’m getting messed up, you guys can film, and I’ll just watch :) I’ll be the guy doing the "antho dance" during Pick Me Up.
