Band sounded great at the Aggie Theater in Fort Collins. I did not write down the setlist but these are the numbers I remember:

      ALMOST READY
      WAGON
      BACK TO YOUR HEART
      BEEN THERE ALL THE TIME
      LITTLE FURY THINGS
      RAISANS
      OUT THERE
THIS IS ALL I CAME TO DO
      FEEL THE PAIN
      PICK ME UP
      WHAT IF I KNEW
      FORGET THE SWAN
      FREAKSCENE

      JUST LIKE HEAVEN
      MOUNTAIN MAN

Looks pretty similar to quite a few of the setlists I’ve read in this forum. I may be missing one song at most.

My friend and I decided to brave the "Stack" right up front for part of the show and, sure enough, it was DEAFENING. It was rather funny when all the folks were up front chatting away before the guys hit the stage and the guitar tech guy came out and hit one chord. Several people were quite startled, some even shrieked and covered their ears. Even the tech dude raised his eyebrows as if to say "Oh My."

J’s tone was spot on, even partially drowning out the drums and vocals, which ain’t easy in a club setting..

Another telltale indication of volume: I could easily hear the hum of the gear on an empty stage over the house music simply because stuff was switched ON.

Goddamn, I’ve been to hundreds of shows over the last 23+ years and this one ranks up there somewhere in terms of sheer volume.

Lastly, I could SMELL the amplifiers, no shit.

Yea that show fucking rocked. I was right there in front of J and I still have ringing in my right ear (didn’t wear an earplug haha).

The original setlist had the encore as:

        Just Like Heaven
        Sludgefeast
        Chunks

but having Mountain Man instead was great, because I love their first album.

I also really enjoyed the Monofog set before Dinosaur, too bad they were cut short on time because of Chad’s less important acoustic set. At least as a bonus I ended up talking to Hayley and Doug for awhile and got them and the rest of the band to sign their vinyl I bought.

Welp, It’s all true. The dream realized, The original Dinosaur Jr. Live. Egad… don’t wake me.
So I had first bought tix to the Aspen show, canceld – denied – refunded – close call….! Then another Colorado date emerged!
WooHoo! Bought a ticket and journeyed 8 hours from Durango to Ft. Collins to see them in the flesh. Honestly, The show met and exceeded any expectations I had developed in the last 12 years or from the feedback and reviews I read before the show. With todays anhedonial pop tunes it is nice to see a "genuine" guitar based band get back together to awaken and bring the music world back to life. One of those bands you could really care less if others like, it’s "your" music afterall. The show started really late, and without the Black Keys ( shucks ) guess they were doin the fest gig. In any event it provided ample time to paruse the backlot for a glimps of Jay, ( easy to do with the lax security) and sure enough there he was, leaning up against a van, sporting his classy Kissinger frames. Call me a wimp, I just couldn’t muster the courage to introduce myself. [ So, if you read this Jay I would LOVE and sincerley apriciate your autograph sir, after all you are a true hero of mine ]. An intimate setting, I would ballpark 100 to 200 peeps, a room full of Dinosaur Jr fans only. Hot and muggy inside – zero ventilation here we go…! DJR took the stage aprox 11:30pm and the rest is history in my mind, and the mind of all who attended. A full 15-16 set show ( see setlist below) Had they played Quicksand (my favorite) I suspect they would have taken me out of the Aggie in a body bag. It wasn’t as loud as I had anticipated it would be, however I suspect it was the acoustics of that 120 year old makeshift theatre. No ear plugs used. Besides isn’t that part of the experiance? In hind sight, I wish i had traveled the 1 hour to see them at the Denver festival the following night. Another of lifes missed opportunities I guess… I will be posting some purty good pictures of the event and band in the next few days so, keeplookin folks! especially those of you who were there…..! Remember The green Mind says that it’s ok.
