Hey will J ever release a tab book of his best songs like thumb, ammaring etc
September 18, 2007 at 12:54 pm #131938who knows. but I guess no one quite can match J’s playing anyway, he’s a genius. he’s kinda playing drums and guitar at the same time. to me it would be strange to see someone sightreading J’s music. But it would be cool to hear a classic emsemble or something play some dino/j tunes. the tunes are so good.
September 18, 2007 at 1:30 pm #131939LOL classical ensemble, but yeah the only reason i said that is because i love his music and many other grunge/alt rock bands have had song books made such as soundgarden AIC and Nirvana. It would be good to have an official score of his music so the hopers like me could play like him
September 18, 2007 at 3:36 pm #131940It’d be pretty laborious to have to tab his songs. Anyone who has ever tried will quickly realise J opts to play some flipping weird chords at times. Even if it sounds right, 9 times outta 10 it isn’t… but it makes it all the more challenging.
September 18, 2007 at 4:45 pm #131941Some tunes, when J. plays live, sound like he’s coming up the on-ramp on a busy highway, trying to negotiate space while cars are whizzing by at 100 m.p.h. Sorry, a stupid car analogy but that’s what it sounds like to me.
September 18, 2007 at 5:06 pm #131942I tabbed the More Light album, they laughed i bet. I can’t help it when I used to play along with J’s music, that i was louder.

Although I think I am right on the mark with Ground.
I made one tab book printed from the web, but I threw it away when I decided it was too close to literature. If they did release a tab book I’d just get it for sentimental value.

It’s strange, I was just thinking of that song earlier on.
October 2, 2007 at 4:33 pm #131944my favorite is a guitar world transcription for "start choppin". at one point it gives directions for the solo as "played with reckless abandon"…i kid you not….

October 24, 2007 at 3:48 pm #131946I always used to keep a look out for dino tab books … i know for sure that there was definitely a listing in the shop databases for …. i think it was without a sound … never a release date though and after awhile i decided to give up … i remember the start choppin transcription though … reckless abandon indeed
