20 years ago today, Dinosaur (before they added the "Jr") played a tiny shit-hole club (the Nightshift Cafe) in Naugatuck CT on a snowy cold night. The club was located in a strip mall, and one of the opening bands was B.A.L.L. Tension between the band had been going on for a while, and this night Lou got fed-up/bored (I’m guessing) with playing Severed Lips during the middle of the set, so he improvised some feedback bass playing instead of the usual note-playing (probably intending to annoy J and Murph). At the end of the song, J swung his guitar and lanky body at Lou (this brief moment is seen in Sonic Youth’s video for "Teenage Riot"). Most of the audio recording from this show is available at freesofree.net, thanks to Anthony and whoever donated it.
Congrats to the band for reuniting and still belting out the best loud music ever made. If anyone who reads this and sees them tonight in Omaha, headbang a little for me (especially if they do Mountain Man).
i didn’t know that either..it was short but you could see it…is there anywhere that has the full recording or is that it?

[/quote]I too have that book. I like it. I think the section on Dinosaur is awesome because a lot of the stuff in that section I had never heard of before. I liked the part when Murph said to J that he hopes J gets raped by a bald black man, and J replies "By that do you mean you?" Thats some intense (and pretty funny) stuff!
