This was a wonderful show at a wonderful venue ! The Muffathalle is an old hydropower plant that was built in 1893 and is still in use. It has a capacity of 2000 people. Overall sound was excellent that night (100 times better than at the Hamburg show 2 days prior), probably because they had a 100 dB limit in Munich. The sound was clear as a bell, nothing was distorting and it was still very loud. Awesome Color (support) were amazing, Lou was in the audience watching them, with a big smile on his face !
"Been There All The Time" is a great choice for a set opener and it works really well. The "Jam" was actually a 1-2 mins. stand-alone improvisation, (something that they have been doing less at recent shows). "Raisans" was very long, "Kracked" had an amazing wah-solo. I think that the band is currently at their peak – excellent playing, a tight setlist, no more messing around between songs, a well-oiled unit and I can really see them recording a new album in the near future !
