I just got an e-mail from Toad’s Place in New Haven, and at the bottom was a list of upcoming shows including Dinosaur Jr a couple days before the Built to Spill/Meat Puppets show, but it’s not listed on their calendar or on the Dino tour dates page. Anyone got any info??
August 5, 2008 at 10:31 am #133402Yeah, September is going to suck. I am going to have to go to the Jazzmaster concert at Knitting Factory on 9/12 with Thurston Moore and Nells Cline and J, Then Dino on 9/19 in New Havan, possible the Catskills with Yo La, Mogwai, MBV and Dino on 9/21, then MBV on 9/23 and Dino and Built To Spill on 9/25 and 9/26. Let alone any other area dates that might happen. And I just got back from Chicago two weeks ago for pitchfork. What a slow summer music wize

Unfortunately I am feeling like Dino is coming to an end soon.
August 7, 2008 at 10:29 am #133403is toads place confirmed? havent seen it anywhere. if thats official ill definitely go to that over the orpheum. as much as id like to see meat puppets, i fear dinosaur will play a shorter openerish set. could be wrong.
August 7, 2008 at 5:33 pm #133404wow, an unexpected TOADS SHOW! nice….yeah its not listed on dinosaurs site or the Toads site yet, but it makes sense since they are playing NYC and boston around that time…great month comin up for shows….Thurston moore playing all of his psychic hearts album on 9/17 in northampton..meat puppets are playin in new haven that same night too at TOads…then another meat puppets date 9/18 in northampton…now dinosaur, wooo!
EDIT : the show is now listed on the Toads PLace site….9/19 Friday!

September 14, 2008 at 4:06 pm #133409I wish I didn’t have school or a job… then I could go.
September 18, 2008 at 4:39 pm #133410is there any chance the show at Toads will be them performing all of Your Living All over Me? i heard rumors they were playing YLAOM at ATP this weekend. i saw Thurston last nigh tin MA play all of psychic hearts in a tune up gig for ATP, it sounded amazing. maybe well get YLAOM at toads tomorrow!
BTW, opening for dino is OM, i think they are the former rythem section for Sleep….just a bass and drums band, but i hear very good
September 19, 2008 at 1:55 pm #133411Allright!
Finally bought a ticket today. Don’t know why, but I was waffling on going to this show but now I am psyched. Maybe it was because no one would go with me. My girlfriend finally said that if I really wanted she would also attend, but I can’t in good conscience do that to her. She more than tolerates my love of Dinosaur records, but is no fan of excessive volume, so…
See you all at the show!
September 19, 2008 at 2:00 pm #133412Maybe I can finally hear No Bones live. Probably wishful thinking.
September 20, 2008 at 9:50 am #133413Well that was a good show. Not the best I’ve seen (my personal favorite was the first night at Rebel in 12/06) but the sound was good, the band was sharp and it was an enjoyable time, even though I wasn’t crazy about the setlist. Here’s what I can remember of it (in rough order):
Almost Ready
Been There All The Time
Back To Your Heart
Out There
Pick Me Up
Feel The Pain
This Is All I Came To Do
The Wagon
Freak Scene
Repulsion
Kracked
Sludgefeast
Forget The Swanencore:
what song am I forgetting??
Just Like Heaven
ChunksSeptember 20, 2008 at 7:53 pm #133414hey folks,
just put this show up on thetradersden. enjoy!
September 20, 2008 at 9:27 pm #133415WOW, thanks for putting this show up so quick. great show last night, dinosaur sounded tight, loud and right on for every song…Kracked >SLudgfeast was the highlight for me. good to hear the new songs live sicne i havent seen them since right before the new album came out. set list looks accurate from what i remember, i think repulsion, just like heaven and chunks was the encore
the opener Om were good for about 15-20 minutes, then the bass and drum act gets kinda old for me, plus they played for like an hour
