Dinosaur Jr-You`re Living All Over Me and Bug:what can I say?

Husker Du-Zen Arcade and New Day Rising:almost like the Beatles of post punk

Sonic Youth-Evol and Daydream Nation:a big step forward from their no wave days

X-Los Angeles and The Wild Gift:gems of the LA punk scene

Minutemen-Double Nickels On The Dime:they did`nt sound like punk but what else do you call them?

      The Church-Heyday and Starfish:jangly,psychedelic,ambient,dreamy…

Dream Syndicate-The Medicine Show:not as famous as their debut but in my book better.Steve Wynn was the west coast Lou Reed

Squirrel Bait-Skag Heaven:these Kentucky kids sure could rock

Henry Threadgill-Rag Bush And All:I don`t like alot of jazz in the `80s but this is brilliant

Emily Remler-Transitions:jazz guitarist who died of a heart attack at age 32 in 1990.

Smokey Wilson-88th Street Blues:a bit obscure in the blues world but Smokey is a mix of past blues greats like Howlin Wolf and Elmore James mixed together

The Bats-Daddy`s Highway:New Zealand jangle rock

Dire Straits-Love Over Gold:I know many find them dull but this 5 song album was way better than that Brothers In Arms stuff

The Police-Ghost In The Machine:the production is weak but Sting had some great songs here

Tom Waits-Rain Dogs:my fave by Waits

Mission Of Burma-Vs:they did`nt stick around long in the `80s but they made their point

Replacements-Let It Be and Tim:yeah rock and roll.Westerberg did`nt give in to major labeldom at this point

Galaxie 500-Today and On Fire:like the Velvet Underground 3rd album on every song!Dean could`nt sing well but who cares.Naomi Yang-one of the coolest chick bassists ever

Eleventh Dream Day-Prarie School Freakout:done in 6 hours with alot of beer and a buzzing amp

Throwing Muses-s/t(1986):Kristin Hersh sounds just insane on this record

I’ve really tried to like the Smiths, I really have.
Some friends think they’re absolutely fantastic, friends that I like and respect a lot, so I’ve tried but it’s just not happening.
I get pissed off by listening to a Smiths album.

I love the Smiths! Louder Than Bombs is a terrific album which I can admit to listening to almost to a psychotic degree. And the album ends with Asleep which makes me want to cry and jump off a bridge.

Nirvana ~ Bleach Shut up and go to hell if you don’t like this album. :D

Oi, no need to get all defensive for liking Bleach :D
There’s probably 37 great albums from the 80’s that I forgot to mention in my posts, that doesn’t mean I think you’re mrs smelly pants for mentioning them.

Can you teach me how to like the smiths ?

No. Morrissey has forbidden me from speaking to non-believers.

The joke’s on you, because I goes all the way to 1890. So there !

It probably made you everything you are today. You’re more or less ruled by that song, or so it would seem.
