Bought a new guitar today, it’s a 2003 Gibson Les Paul Melody Maker, so basically a Les Paul Jr. with an intonatable bridge. Bought it off a worthless alky in the area. He’s the kind of guy who gets drunk and throws fits, so one day his wife had enough of it and took an axe to it.

So it needs a little work, but the neck joint is clean. I offered him $40 for it, but he wanted to keep the tuners. So $35 for a Gibson. The pickup is worth more than that. And even if it costs $200 to get it running, I still came out ahead. Plus it looks bitchin, although my roommates keep trying to tell me to refinish it.
