Not only that, he also sat in with Kurt Vile to play “Pretty Pimpin” on the Late Show With Stephen Colbert. BUSY!
Dinosaur Jr 30 Night 4 brought out special guests Elisa Ambrogio, Matt Valentine, Julia Cafritz, Bob Mould, & Lee Ranaldo.

Talk about a whirlwind of amazing evening. Just at the halfway point of the week long Dinosaur Jr 30 shows the special guests have included Frank Black, Henry Rollins, Fred Armisen, Charles Bradley, Kim Gordon, Lee Ranaldo, Kurt Vile, Steve Gunn, Eleanor Friedberger, Scott Helland, Jeff Tweedy, Spencer Tweedy, Jesse Malin & Valarie June. Each night the band has kicked off the show by playing the debut album followed by a set of other favorites and covers. So far there has not been a ton of videos from the sets posted but I’ll keep updating these with more as they become available.

DInosaur Jr. “Abduction” Board
This week Dinosaur Jr will be playing seven consecutive SOLD OUT shows at the Bowery Ballroom in New York City to commemorate 30 years of being a band. It’s going to be a massive party. To coincide with this event TANK, a sister company of 1939 skate, is releasing a Dinosaur Jr skateboard, featuring Arik Roper artwork. For those lucky enough to to have gotten tickets to the sold out shows, there will be 70 band signed boards available at the merch table. For the unlucky ones, they are offering a limited number of the boards up through their website right now for pre-order. The official release of the board will be in January but we will have a small amount to ship out on December 15th. THESE WILL GO FAST!!!! They also have a Witch Board and Shirt for sale on the site too.
Dinosaur Jr is no stranger to skateboarding for sure! SkateVideoSite.com and Slappy Blast have listings of Dinosaur tracks that have appeared in skate films over the years.

Dinosaur 30th Anniversary

Dinosaur Jr will celebrate their 30th anniversary with a six-night run at Bowery Ballroom from December 3 – 8. At each show the band will perform their debut album, Dinosaur, in full, followed by a set of songs from throughout their career. There will be “very special guests” sitting in each night.

Deep Wound
“In an excerpt from Albert Mudrian’s Choosing Death, Mascis discusses the formation of Deep Wound, his proto-grind band.”
“We just wanted to play as fast as possible and, I think, sometimes it was to the detriment of our songs,” says Mascis. “All we were concerned with, really, was playing faster and faster.”
